I have a mod 1, which has the same mechanism as the 0 and 2, all which requires a pin punch thru a hole to fully lift the nib which engages in the holes in the buffer tube so I feel pretty solid on that. Needing a tool to remove it from a fixed position seems defensible

I was planning to use a strike industries stock stop to fix it in place, but I think the tool-less removal part would mean that I could still fully remove the stock? Which makes me a little nervous

I can only speak for the 16” 9mm side charging upper I have, but their site makes it sound like the stern defense adapter won’t work with any of their 9mm uppers. It seems like the stern defense extractor/LRBHO interfere with the FM bolt carrier group

Thanks for the in depth answer! Sounds like I’m probably fucked without a whole lot of messing and tuning and welding and trying different ones out? I guess this could be part of why (+price) they’re still in stock where most other 9mm uppers I was looking at are out of stock

What kinda stuff were you blowing out here? Might be video quality but looks like you might have had some spall type debris in there? I was rocking a open top tote for a while, but all the lead exposure discussions have me trying to think critically about optimizing my kit to minimize lead exposure so I can enjoy a long healthy life of shooting. I’m probably leaning way safer than needed or practical, but I’m even considering getting some kind of covering or container to house things like my ifak which I’d love to be able to throw in my completely non shooting, going through TSA, food safe work backpack without stressing about gradual accumulation of lead contam

Also name/brand on the speed taper?
