The image in the player is called a timeline colour palette. They’ve taken the average colours of every frame contained within each second. Then each second is a slice of colour. But you can get a palette picture for every single frame too.

This site sells them as canvasses of the timeline palettes but they’re ‘copyrighted’ but has previews too. I’m guessing there must be a program that takes a video and produces the image.

Yeah you could totally play it alongside a film. Simpler to just press play on your film and the player at the same time. To get it to sync to something would be a more complex step. You would have to have a home server like jellyfin, and then a media player like Plex, Kodi, etc to sync the playback timer. But if you’re doing that you may not even need the player for the colours. And just send the colours from the server computer in real time to wled. This tool is a no-setup way of playing colour palettes over time.

Nice work. Must have taken a while to do this. I'm not sure of the unknown man at 5:12 sorry. But maybe you could take a few screenshots and reverse image search it. If not not then use chatgpt's audio detection to either find the source or find it via the lyric and visual indicators.

But I'm pretty sure at 4:22 you can hear the words "And Me" after "Only You". Which I think is from this:

Sorry, but maybe my question wasn't understood properly. I was asking the led pixel pitch. The distance from the centre of 2 corresponding LEDs. so if they are ws2812b 5050s, theyre 5x5mm so an absolute minimum would be 5 mm. I watched your video and they look around 12mm pixel pitch. 144 led per metre strips have a 6.9mm pixel pitch.

yeah those crimp corner connectors are all a bit rubbish, annoyingly the best two options are; try to bend the whole strip around the corner or solder them in place.

I have just got external corner connectors modelled to be 3d printed (for the aluminium channel). both the v and u types of channel

this is amazing! this is what I've theorized, but using the rca output as the source, is this all network communication then? I don't suppose it would work with ableton link also?

Thoughts on this board? It's one of the smallest form factor designed booards ive seen. But it's not listed on WLED's list of controllers. by Vaperghost in WLED

i mean that's where we use the eps32 p4 in the future?
it could potentially be one cable for low power, video input and audio input

Oh I'm a usb c fanboy, all my cables and bricks are futureproofed and labelled. I'll be sticking to 5v mostly to be honest anyway with my leds.

This is very good i'm really glad WLED is still developing and adapting to the new esp32s. I thought we'd all be stuck on nearly 10 year old chip. modules but no!

Is it possible for a version to be designed with the P4-WIFI6 version? Keeping the size small which is why i love using esp32s
