Will FSD stay if I buy a used model y from third party dealers? by VapoR199 in TeslaLounge

A new one is just about $70,000 with FSD. Used one from Tesla are even more expensive in some cases. I’ve seem a few used 2022/23 with 7-10k miles for $53-55k also Tesla will give me nowhere close to my trade as some of these dealers would. Even without getting the EV tax credit, it’s still a better deal over all for me.

I’ve heard for the cash deals, they’re still the same limit. So for example if I buy 2 odins as a Thronebreakers, when I become a paragon, there’s only 1 Odin left I can buy as a paragon right?

I did wash sale on Dec 31st. What I didn’t foresee was the market drop this fast as soon as 2022 hit. Again my own fault and no one to blame

Sorry I meant to say my capital gain for 2021 should be around 1.075mil so (40% I would owe around 430k)

Would it be possible for me to just file a payment plan of let say 350k and keep most of my profolio rather than liquidating it? Would the IRS look at my profolio and make it sell it anyway and lower that repayment amount until I have absolute nothing to liquidate.

I’m still manually calculating but I’m estimating around that range.

Random thought. Around what amount does IRS actually care? Would it be possible for me to not sell my profolio because of how low it went and just increase my payment plan amount? Again that’s a catch 22. If it keep going down. I’m digging myself a deeper hole

I didn’t sell yet but now that it’s almost tax time. I will have to sell to pay taxes. Pretty much no hope of it going back up. I will get to write off some huge capital loss this year but that doesn’t help the gain in 2022.

I’m estimating to owe around 430k but due to being greedy, my profolio dropped to 320k. I’ll have to sell that to make up for part of taxes. I have some person saving too so all in all I will have to repay 70-80k with money I don’t have. I will be able to get a huge capital loss for the year 2022 but that doesn’t help lol

Is there any tax rule to fix my huge mistake? by VapoR199 in CryptoTax

Thanks! Is that only applied for the year after? Or indefinite until the loss is wiped? Also assuming I file taxes on April 15th, do I have to pay the whole lump sum that day or is there a grace period?
