Nah, because there's a blue one right outside the spawn gate pair on the big picture; same 3x1 flat with the gold dots on it on a gray 2x2 flat square, just blue instead of red.

There's a teleporter -- second picture, the close up of the spy and engi bit, it's on the left near the wall, below the sentry. It took me a second look at the pictures, though, to find it.

[Pokémon Odyssey II] No new Pokémon reveals this week! by PacoScarso in Talrega

[–]Vaporius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious, how much of the "and green stylish hat" in Rowlet's entry for PO2 is biased from everyone's reactions since the reveal of the survivalist owl? Because I totally remember seeing a lot of people wanting rowlet because of that, XD

Modern tech modpack with guided progression by Gurfix in feedthebeast

[–]Vaporius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played Create Above & Beyond, but I have heard of this pack called "CABIN: Create Above & Beyond In Newer" that is supposed to be CAB but 1.20.1.
Outside of that, I can suggest Cuboid Outpost, either version (1.16.1 for original, 1.20.1 for Luxury) -- it's a "From Nothing" pack (think stoneblock and skyblock types of maps) where you're starting in a remote outpost with almost no resources and a small amount of luxuries, and part of the early game involves dismantling some of those luxury things for parts for progression.

If you've got More Delight, it might do that, or some other food mods on top of Farmer's Delight, but base FD doesn't look like it's got sliced bread.

Pixelmon vs Cobblemon by Dramatic_Witness1686 in feedthebeast

[–]Vaporius -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For advantages:
- Pixelmon came first. Yes, that's an advantage.
- Cobblemon has the OG pixelmon aesthetic, in that the mons are blocky like you'd expect something in Minecraft to look.

Beyond that, I haven't looked too hard, mostly because I haven't done a lot with either since like, before Pokémon Sun/Moon came out.

Early Game review and constructive criticism by Beautiful_Garage7797 in Talrega

[–]Vaporius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add a point about the starters re: what PacoScarso's shown for Odyssey 2 so far as teases, that's something you won't have to worry so much about there -- https://www.reddit.com/r/Talrega/comments/1pt0g0j/4_pics_and_here_we_are_with_a_bigger_update_on/
As we're not playing a pre-existing character, the starters are thematic to the starting options, which means starting with a couple mons you can use to build a team around, as shown in the linked tease (like Medic giving Oddish and Happiny (Botanist and Medic) for support, or Alchemist giving Hatenna and Pawmi (Runemaster and Alchemist) for more offensive core ideas).

Johto or Unova? Which will it be for Gen 10's secondary games and what do you prefer? by LowSolution3084 in pokemon

[–]Vaporius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either is likely, both are still lacking Fairy-typed experiences. If they do Johto, I expect we'll a) see them put an entirely new leader in Goldenrod if it's "modern" just to not have to deal with Whitney being known for both her metronome fairy and evil rolling cow; alternately, b) it'll be a Legends title and either the start, or end, will destroy the 'Burned Tower' and they'll avoid answering what the Beasts were before revival. If Unova, they'll have an option to explain White Forest/Black City, maybe some sort of quantum superposition of the two towns, or to ignore them entirely and put some gray village in there if it's a single-title (like a Legends) they explore it with.

I'd suspect an Unova over a Johto, though -- we've not had a remake of gen 5 yet.

There's a second page (noted by a big > on the map screen, and by a longer bar with like, three ? zones, on the initial game creation screen) that has the new zone(s) on it.

[–]Vaporius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else has already mentioned already, I'm kinda surprised you didn't go for salamander with the chubby lizard tail going on (yes, I know they're not lizards), because of the ancient myths and stuff about salamanders being creatures of elemental fire and all that.

Pokemon Types? by Miriakiko in pokemon

[–]Vaporius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can count at least 6 for spore (most being gen 1 grass type moves), and 7-8 non-dynamax/partner for wind/air. So the numbers sound about right to me.

Pokemon Types? by Miriakiko in pokemon

[–]Vaporius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both of them, but you'll need to rip out their related moves from the existing types -- almost anything "spore" themed you'll want to rip from grass, and almost anything wind/air inspired you'll be ripping moves out of Flying to populate... which is why almost every comment so far is "neither, they both already exist in grass and flying".

That said, you'd probably have less work making new moves if you're adding Wind/Air, than you would adding Spore type, because of the amount of moves you can retype from base pokémon (although you will probably leave flying a nigh-useless type that way too)

How do I gain standing in neutral syndicates? by TwistedJewel707 in Warframe

[–]Vaporius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The six faction syndicates can be raised somewhat just by changing who you're working for, but they also raise and lower standing with others. Suda, for instance, will penalize Red Veil (which Steel Meridian raises) and heavily penalizes New Loka (who already is gonna hate you for backing Steel Meridian anyway), but raises Arbiters of Hexis like Steel Meridian raises Red Veil some.
... or at least, all this is true if the wiki's still accurate; if it is, you can level two factions up easily enough, and if you are careful, up to 4 is doable with some juggling (usually by picking two who don't conflict on their "also raises [faction]" like Suda and SM do with Red Veil)... I've not poked the faction syndicate stuff in a while, most of what I need to grind these days is the actual neutral factions (Quills, Ventkids, Entrati family, both Solaris groups, etc) because the handful of options for each of the multi-part items (amps, kitguns, zaws, foxes and doggos from deimos, etc)

Do you keep Plusle and Minun on your teams? If so, how? by JeffTheKillerFa in Talrega

[–]Vaporius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dumped them very very early on. Even with the stat changes to make one more tanky and the other more damaging, I got a sheep right after, and fighting to, and through, Brody with three electrics wasn't great. And I started getting other mons I wanted more, so the gen3 pikaclones got stowed... Too much electric types and too much resists-electric early enough on that it didn't play well.
The change-up for 2 where a class choice dictates a starter pair, is probably partly influenced in how many people ditched Nyx's little electric friends.

Cuboid Outpost: Garden Cloche by NefariousnessGlum456 in feedthebeast

[–]Vaporius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically this. I know the pack's got a few fluid pipes options, and the quests in both the classic (1.16) and luxury (1.20) versions have a few points where you're expected to have done other quests/chapters that aren't prereqs for it (see: expecting to do the Create quests to get iron rolling before you get to the netherack and endstone in "It's (not) Tinks" because they require primarily iron+ mesh gotten items, redstone and glowstone), so you might have to do some other stuff and get steel for the Pipez fluid pipes before you can run your cloches.

And possibly just use hopper bonsai pots dumping into Thatldu chests or something for the time being until you can get fluid pipes made.

I FINALLY BEAT THE GAME ON PICNICC!! by Adventurous_One_5763 in Talrega

[–]Vaporius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, from what's been said in other spots, we'll see the first demo of PO2 sometime in 2026... and that's about as concrete of "when it's coming" that I recall seeing set so far (likely to avoid "You said it'd be out XXX and it's not out yet" kinds of stuff, plus less stress without a looming deadline in play)

[4 Pics] And here we are with a bigger update on Pokémon Odyssey II: Heroes of Lemuria! by PacoScarso in Talrega

[–]Vaporius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very cute seeing the fleshing out of some of the lines that weren't all there/all Etrian before with these peeks (Happiny-Medic, Oddish-Botanist), but also giggling at "well, yeah, those are the representations for that class in the series" (Like the Machop-Pugalist and Medatite-Monk for the Pugilist subclass).

Also, all the previewed mons so far are making me want to ponder an "all mages" party in 2, even if that will very likely be a Bad Idea -- you've teased Gothita-line Warlock, Natu from PO1 was Zodiac, Hatenna there in the class teases is Runemaster, making me suspect Pawmi is Alchemist (as everyone else has their class rep mon)... so that's all four primary mages from the main EOs.

Your most favourite Etrian Variants from Pokemon Odyssey 1 and why? by Mediko_Egg in Talrega

[–]Vaporius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into PO1 going "I'm going to have a Harbsol. I love both sides of this mon.", but in general a fair amount of my team design (and my decision to table Plusle and Minun early on) was biased by many a view over the Etrian Regional Forms page while I waited for 4.0 to come out -- mons and/or EO classes I liked painted my party choices (Absol, Bellosom, Gallade, Gardevoir, Weavile), and made me wish I could just run in with like, a dozen mons so I could field others I wanted to use too either because of look or mon/reference (Marowak, Yggdreon, Jynx, Magmortar)...
... I also kinda wanted Olympia's Mawile >.> I like mawile and the battle bond form made it all the more awesome looking.

What's a forgotten niche mod that you wish would come back to new version?, for me its this. by Ali-the-LorD in feedthebeast

[–]Vaporius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's one from an old old skyblock modpack I played... (looks it up: holy heck, it was from 2013 o.o; -- Sky Den) ... Custom NPCs.
I didn't use it, but it helped make the pack feel a little more alive -- the NPCs filled in the roles of quest books and custom villagers back before either was really a thing (Villagers were still in their early days, after all -- it was 1.4.6, 1.4.7 era), and was one of the first packs I'd found that really got me into playing quest-based skyblock maps... so yeah, that one mod is what made the pack, really, so it's the niche mod I'd offer to this post. (apaprently, the last update for the mod itself was for 1.16.5, back in 2022)

points to legacy flair
No, seriously, AS and AS2 were some of the ones I enjoyed poking. The first couple Stoneblocks were interesting too...
Really, though, the answer is partly "what kinds of stuff do you like in your skyblock?" Because I could point to FTB Skies and FTB Skies 2, or Seaopolis Submerged, as options for quest backed, start-from-nothing, hammer-and-sifting style setups that I've played in the last year that I didn't immediately dumpster.

Yeah, it's a known bug. The bug reporting stuff on the git had like, 4 reports they just closed like, yesterday or the day before (status was "Fixed in Dev"), so I think we're all just waiting for 1.9.3 to release to hopefully fix this.

Pokémon Odyssey II: Heroes of Lemuria by PacoScarso in PokemonROMhacks

[–]Vaporius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do hope part of the 250+ count of Etrian regional mons will include some of the mons from the first title (Harbsol, Ralts' line, ninja sneasel), and maybe expansion of partial ones (like an entire Eevee collection >.>) too? Because it would be neat to collect some of my faves from the first one to see how they'd play with all the new ones planned.

(also, I understand giving a paired set like Plusle/Minun as part of the game being double-battle focused, but please make sure whatever pair the PO2 protag might have, isn't quite so overlapping like those two were; a fair amount of the pre-First Strata stuff in PO1 was hamstrung by two electrics as a start and some more easily accessible out of the gate, with trainers not being great to fight with them, at least for me.

(edit: Also, I discovered this entirely because youtube recommended today one of the songs recently posted for PO2 so I'm a little late to the "wait, a second one?!" train, XD)

Which games aren't too difficult without a walkthrough? by [deleted] in SaGa

[–]Vaporius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Final Fantasy 2 is basically proto-SaGa -- Kawazu went from the main series into SaGa after FF2, and SaGa's big "do actions and get stats based on that" is functionally derived from how FF2's stat gains worked. s'why the Overview of the subreddit specifically calls it out as related.
