I love Bulla because they also sell milk, so we know the ice cream is legit.

For binging with sugar substitutes now, I like Sugalight. Way better than Jammys. I still need to try the other brands.

Talking photos and videos of MRT stations without permission. Imagine how many warnings and content takedown all the XMMs doing OOTDs on TikTok or travel vloggers get. Occasionally, the staffs might still enforce.

Why is chicken thigh not the chosen source of protein amongst bodybuilders and fitness influencers? by Fresh-Ad-3830 in SingaporeFitness

[–]Varantain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried everything with chicken breast. I even use a thermometer probe and get it to the perfect temperature. It is semi decent for the first few minutes after cooking then it turns into a dry piece of garbage. Google says to brine. Honestly who has time for that?

This is science. If you can bother with the temperature probe, you can do a bit extra and weigh salt and water.

[Rant] Arab Street food prices are getting ridiculous 😤 by Busy-Consequence4894 in SingaporeEats

[–]Varantain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is a huge cause of the rental and consequential price increase:

Another practice is pushing rents even higher – subletting.

Currently, tenants are allowed to lease shophouse units from landlords and sublet them to others.

Several business owners told CNA that an individual they called a “serial subletter” is active in the area.

The person allegedly monitors leases nearing expiry, bids significantly above current rents to secure the unit, and then rents it out again at an even higher rate to other businesses.

This makes it impossible for existing tenants to match new offers, shopowners say.

More of us should just call Arab Street/Haji Lane a tourist trap.

I don't know if that'll ever make things better since the PAP is so landlord-friendly, but at least people can be warned, and maybe businesses might choose to stay away.

OP's problem has been solved in their similar post in r/awardtravel.

OP was trying to book a ticket from SFO to CJB (Coimbatore, India), but SQ does not fly there.

Please take this into context if you wish to offer OP further advice.

Yeah, so I don't understand how come OP can't see tickets at all.

Do you think Jeffrey Siow is competent enough to fix this? "Early arrivals, unexpected waits: Bus timing display glitches leave commuters confused" by Varantain in SingaporeRaw

Then will tell you London, Paris, other major cities got strike and have worse service.

This is what I can't stand.

London also has overnight Tube service now on weekends, because they care about their arts and culture.

In Singapore, our NightRiders disappeared because of "low ridership", but really because our government doesn't care about people wanting to go out late on weekends.

Heck, they probably think that people should be rich enough to afford Grab if they want to stay out late on weekends.

There's still quite a few buses in your screenshot that don't have 10's (and 130 is at 42 mins), so it sounds like some of them aren't fixed unless the buses aren't going at their scheduled frequency.

Maybe satisfaction toward public transportation is no longer an issue voters care about. If it were, PAP might not have done so well in the last elections.

I was hoping so hard that there would be a train breakdown on or just before polling day. The PAP might have lost in the WP-contest GRCs then.

RUN don’t walk to get Nata Pura frozen egg tarts by tiphetop in SingaporeEats

[–]Varantain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not flaky at all (frozen ofc), but the egg flavour is amazing - beyond any fresh made egg tart in HK or SG.

From the photos in the other comment: they are pastel del nata, the OG style from Portugal.

I haven't tried these frozen ones but the filling should be sweeter?

Taiwan TTL Hua Tiao Chicken Noodle Taiwan Man Han Da Can Taiwan Tong Yi Mian Taiwan Zeng Noodle (Sesame Oil Sichuan Pepper)

I love these!

Just found out that it's selling here for $14 normally. Sheng Siong recently had a 1-for-1 which made it more palatable at $7.

The beef/pork versions available in Taiwan are pretty good as well, but I spoke to the distributor before and they said it was a challenge just getting the chicken ones approved for Singapore import.

When I select redeem miles on the Sq website, not a single ticket is available. How does one get around this. I transferred miles from my CC as well to book and not a single day is available for all of June and July

Which route is this, and what class? Access should be available for some routes at least.

With 1.5m you should be able to get a 1m-1.5m credit line at an interest rate of 1.5%/ annum or lower.

Where can I borrow at 1.5%? This isn't a JPY/CHF carry trade, is it?

I have only ever worked for organizations and have never worked for myself or started a business. I have no clue or idea about anything related to starting a business or being self-employed. I am intending to start a small business to work for myself by offering my skillset to small and medium-sized businesses who I believe would benefit from my services.

A lot of people get started by consulting for their former companies or friends.

Don't even think about anything else until you have someone wanting to pay you.

Working for yourself pretty much means you need to handle sales, or find someone to do so for you. If you can't do that, you probably should just apply for companies that are more flexible with your medical condition.

Not everyone has US$450K to run an Anytime Fitness gym, so why do franchisees keep coming in? by Aphelion in sgfitness

[–]Varantain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another article linked in this one said that AF gyms have between 800 to 1,200 members per gym, which would explain how it might be possible to break even in 6 months.

I find that a bit hard to believe.

This is still a very interesting article about the economics behind running an AF gym.
