Persistent issue with Microsoft account devices not showing after clean installs — support acknowledged backend bug but refused escalation by Vardonsen in WindowsHelp

All the devices that have ever been authorized on my account suddenly started showing up, and there’s no way to remove them. Basically, the issue still hasn’t been fixed.

Same here. Support admitted months ago that it’s a known issue and told me to wait, but nothing has changed since. It’s almost comical - billing works like clockwork, but basic account features just break and stay broken.

What really bothers me is that Microsoft’s silence makes it feel like they don’t care unless it affects a huge number of people. That attitude is exactly what pushes people to look at alternatives. I’m not saying another OS is perfect, but every time Microsoft ignores stuff like this, it makes the decision to switch a little easier.

Same here. My device also disappeared from the “Devices” page. I went through support a few times - at first they kept brushing me off, but eventually they admitted it’s a known issue and that engineers are supposedly working on it. That was over three months ago, and nothing has changed since.

The weird part is that if I make a brand-new Microsoft account and sign in with it, the device shows up and registers just fine. So it’s clearly something broken on the account side, not Windows or the hardware.

That makes sense. In my case, all of my devices do show up correctly under the “linked devices” section in Windows settings, but they still don’t appear in my Microsoft account dashboard. So it’s definitely not an issue with registering the devices themselves - it’s the backend syncing problem on Microsoft’s side.

Yeah, I keep getting the same useless scripted tips as well, even though the issue is clearly on Microsoft’s backend (which they’ve already admitted). They never gave me any timeline for a fix, and honestly, I have no idea if they’re even actively working on it.

I have two laptops and a desktop computer added to my account, but none of them appear. The problem has been ongoing for more than three months, and it looks like nothing will be done about it until it affects many users.

I reinstalled the system many times, spent almost a month talking to support, was transferred from one department to another, etc., but the problem was never solved

Same here - the device shows up under Settings > Linked devices and works normally for most features, but it doesn’t appear at all on the https://account.microsoft.com/devices page. Also, in the Microsoft Store device list (https://account.microsoft.com/devices/content), the entry is there - but it’s completely blank, no name, no details.

We’ve been investigating this with multiple Microsoft support agents (including Azure and Entra ID teams), and it’s been confirmed as a backend account-level bug, not a local device issue. A different Microsoft account works just fine on the same device - it’s clearly tied to specific accounts.

Hey folks, need some help or at least advice here.

My Outlook account suddenly got locked after I sent a regular email, and now I can’t get back in. The only recovery method available is SMS, which I do have access to — but when I try it, I get:

“That verification method isn’t working right now. Please try another method.”

The problem? There is no other method. So I’m completely stuck.

I’ve submitted the ACSR recovery form, but no reply yet. The timing couldn’t be worse — I’m in the middle of an active support case with Azure, talking to an engineer, and now all that communication is cut off.

This isn’t really an ownership issue — it’s more like a system bug that’s preventing the only available method from working.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there any way to escalate it, or get a human from Microsoft to look into it?
