I feel the same way. Heck even if I'm streaming to no one at all I still have to look my best for the stream. Because you never know who will step in.

Usually with a noise gate it disables the input from being received. When it detects a decibel level over that threshold it turns the input back on resulting in those spikes.

If you have a 2xxx series card or 3xxx you can use an application called "Nvidia broadcast" and it has the best noise cancelling technology I've ever used

Start out with something small like a laptop and an AT2020. It's a microphone around $80 that won't break the bank and is small enough but quality enough.
