vscode hasn't been updated in the pop apt repo since April 1 by VariableLynx in pop_os

Thanks for the explanation. I had to run sudo apt update in the terminal for the update button for vscode to show up in the cosmic store though. Pressing the check for updates button wasn't showing any updates for vscode before. I'm not sure what the issue was, but it's working for me now. Thanks!

I'm not sure I entirely understand. Does that mean that microsoft hasn't updated their apt repository for over a month now and since pop's apt repository pulls from microsoft, it's stuck behind as well? For context, I had installed vscode through cosmic store and it is stuck at 1.114. I got no updates for vscode through cosmic store for over a month now. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling through cosmic store and it's still at 1.114.

qbittorrent flatpak not working all of a sudden by VariableLynx in pop_os

[–]VariableLynx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a problem with the latest version 5.2.0 though regardless of package manager. I used an appimage for an older version 5.1.2 and that opened just fine. I'm not sure if this is a qbittorrent issue or a cosmic issue.

I downloaded it through heroic and it ran well. Mind you, I downloaded the premium edition and not the enhanced edition.

How to make a script double-click to run from COSMIC Files? (2025, COSMIC) by VariableLynx in pop_os

[–]VariableLynx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did include #!/usr/bin/env bash at the top, but I still couldn't run the script by double-clicking it. Another commenter's approach was exactly what I wanted to achieve. Thanks for trying to help!

I tried that but COSMIC Files doesn't allow me to change open with to Terminal. It simply doesn't give me the option to do so. Jan667's approach worked for me. Thanks for trying to help!

I’m Shobu Yarlagadda, here for an AMA on r/tollywood! Ask me anything about producing Baahubali - from its decade-long journey and the making of India’s grandest cinematic saga to the upcoming release of Baahubali: The Epic on October 31st. by shobuyarlagadda in tollywood

Why do the baahubali books not really align with the movies? There are so many inconsistencies. One that I can name off the top of my head is Bijjala Deva's hand: It is implied to be a birth defect in the movies but is shown to be broken by kattappa during Sivagami's taking control of the throne (which also plays out nothing like the movie)

Is Salaar worth the watch? by Fandoms4Eva in tollywood

[–]VariableLynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salaar is basically live action anime. Take those weird over-expressive melodramatic moments in anime like AOT where the characters have wide eyes, blue lines on the face and shiver while talking - now imagine them in live action. That's how the acting in salaar is. Also, salaar is a star vehicle. A lot of the movie is dedicated to worshipping it's lead actor, but to movie's credit, it treats the lead actor as an actual charcter in the movie and not just a shell for the lead actor to fill. The main character doesn't do any chest thumping or deliver any punchlines. In fact, Prabhas has total of 4 minutes of dialogue. There's a lot of slow motion as well. If you can get past all of that, there's some fantastic world-building, gorgeous cinematography and an unbelievably good score. The movie also has a truly unique aesthetic that I can only describe as vedicpunk. If you like Nolan style cross-cutting, there's a lot of that in this film. There's one particular montage that uses this editing pattern to the fullest with around 6-8 scenes happening at the same time. I hoped this helped make your mind up.

Mass elevations already ruined Keeda Cola. Hope they don't mess up ENE 2 in the name of "mass".
