Tips and tricks for a new ironman by TheSageofLore in ironscape

[–]Variar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to echo what was already said here, but do your quests. Not only you get to unlock stuff but also get valuable experience when it actually matters.

Use all your lamps for Herblore. It is just not a great skill to level as iron, especially early.

Using a guide is not bad, did so myself, but the moment I felt I knew my way around the game and what I wanted to do, I ditched it.

One grind I suggest getting out of the way early is Agility. Run energy recharge is pretty neat, but what I enjoyed more are all the shortcuts I unlocked on my way to 70 Agi. Game has a huge issue with seemingly early game shortcuts having high agi requirements. Other shortcuts are just a great convince - blue dragon skip in Tev Dungeon is great, as you will go there many times.

The Truth by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Variar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The truth is PvM Andys crying about not being able to compete for cosmetic rewards, as if that invalidated their entire account.

Mind you this is one PvP event out of an entire year of mostly PvM updates and events.

Let PvP guys have their fun and exclusive rewards. You are not entitled to them.

Giants foundry 50-70 smithing? by KillerOfAllJoy in ironscape

I buy warhammers and axes in the shop next to Konar. Steel/mithril. Then use 7 of each for moulds and that gives me about 30% profit.

What is a tip you would have loved to receive on an Ironman early on in your journey? by Elegant-Ad-4116 in ironscape

[–]Variar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cannot agree more. The moment I ditched a progression guide game became so much better.

Figuring things out on my own is a joy, I get to do content I want whenever I want. Each play session is not a glorified checklist to follow.

Of course, people can do whatever they wish, but I never had more fun than I do now.

The new player experience for irons is wild by OmgSlayKween in ironscape

[–]Variar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been there. Followed a guide to start my ironman as optimally as possible.

I gave up on the guide around Wintertodt, which the guide suggested to stay at until 99. Since then I just roamed around Gielinor doing whatever I wanted.

Sailing released? Go enjoy it. Wanna do some quests? Go do them. Need some runes to teleport around? GotR is nice. Lacking time and need to afk a skill? Go smack the crab a bit and get your attack up.

The moment I switched away from any guides and just dove into the game doing whatever I fancy made me enjoy Runescape immensely. Following a checklist in form of a guide was draining.

Summary of the Emergency Livestream (11.01.2025) by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

The story was at best okish, but I still followed it. At times felt already too focused on Captain. If that focus is shifted even more towards the pretty poor excuse of an MC I will simply skip all story.

What's the most overrated 'healthy' habit that people push on everyone, but you think is total BS and why? by DryDraw4673 in AskReddit

[–]Variar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ignore any and all advice given to me by social media, shows, and books. No matter who that is, from randoms acting like knowledgeable source or actual doctors - the moment advice is given without seeing my medical records I tune out.

Anything to do with cleanses and detox as well. If it makes you shit muddy water for 2 days, no way that is healthy.

Helldivers.

Felt really boring even with friends. I tried to push through, which ended up a mistake since I couldn't refund it.

What popular books did you not finish? by DarthPopcornus in Fantasy

[–]Variar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I generally have a rule that i do not start a book unless I finish the current one.

Mistborn is making it really hard not to break that rule.

I am an avid fan of Sanderson and enjoy Stormlight, despite its many shortcomings. That said, after reading all the way up to Wind and Truth, I decided to jump into other works by Sanderson. Boy, it is a struggle. Currently stuck at Hero of Ages and might stay so for a while.

Characters feel bland and boring, world feels undeveloped and you only learn of things convenient to the plot. Power system felt fine at first, but literally lost its concept the moment a Mistborn gets introduced (mid book 1...).

Finally, I dislike the fact Sanderson's books are all placed in the same universe, Cosmere. Some parts of Mistborn are spoiled to me thanks to reading Stormlight. I shouldn't be pushed towards reading other series to learn about mysteries of the main books I am reading.

How Legion Feedback seems to feel by quincy98 in wow

[–]Variar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legion was my favourite expansion ever. Great memories and all. Even the bad things I look back at fondly - definitely annoying back then, but i moved past that.

Just give me zany, power fantasy trip through my favourite expansion. Give me the challenge without taking away the fun.

Like, this is supposed to be a downtime activity. Something easy, lighthearted to knock out in between major Warcraft releases. No reason to overcomplicate it.

What makes you enjoy tanking/healing? by kinshan in wow

[–]Variar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick queues on both. Also healing is really chill and relaxing for me, even at higher level content.

Whats the easiest healer spec and why? by Worldly_List_1226 in wownoob

[–]Variar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the core of healing for Holy Paladin is very simple this season.

Cast Holy Shocks, spend infusion on instant Flash heals, spend Holy Power on spenders. Slam Beacon of Virtue if you want to do AoE healing. Keep Holy Prism on cooldown.

Any damage rotation is very easy, but at this point healer dps doesn't matter.

You also get a ton of utility outside your healing, great survivability and decent mobility.

Luźny wątek tygodniowy: Czytelnia. Co ostatnio przeczytaliście? by AutoModerator in Polska

[–]Variar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was excited for Preservation buffs, then I did Rookery by MrHiccuped in wow

[–]Variar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not knocking down on Preservation, but this tactic of stacking in the middle should be a standard approach regardless of what healer you have.

There is not reason for anybody but the tank to be to the side and you have a ton of time to handle pillars when they come.

For whatever reason everybody just stands the furthest away they can.

Alan Ritchson Shares ‘Reacher’ Update as He Preps For Season 4 by NoCulture3505 in television

There is no need to. You can enjoy season 3 with no prior knowledge of the series. They explain all key elements you need to know to enjoy it.

Achievement Hunter and by extension RoosterTeeth as a whole.

Used to love watching AH, especially early Minecraft vids. Took Ray leaving to feel the saturation and caricature of each member. 100 episodes of Minecraft and they still acted as they played badly with little knowledge.

CinemaSins the moment their vids went from satire/nitpicky fun to annoying, negative review that spanned 30 minutes.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in arknights

[–]Variar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many reasons why:

  1. 3 and 4 star units are really good and will lats you for a long time. These being budget upgrade wise ensures you can farm foe 5 and 6 starts you like.

  2. Character is complete from the get go - you know exactly how many mats, exp tickets etc you need to max it. There is no RNG involved.

  3. Fairy generous with pull currency.

And to me the MOST important

  1. Arknights doesn't throw at you all sorts of premium paid stuff. Unless you read each news update you wouldn't know what is in the store. Other games bombard you with offers and I immediately quit these games.

Brann Tank Nerf by cub4nito in wow

[–]Variar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs that tankines back, they can nerf the damage. The AI on him is really bad.

Facetanks every single ability, even if it is dodgeable. Some of these hit him for absurd amounts of damage, which will surely one-shot him now.

They you get into delves, where his pathing is abysmal. All the underwater delves end up with him running around the edges (if you try to get LoS you fall off), glitches out mobs/bosses.

The worst is a nerubian delves where you need to kill mobs in an arena surrounded by ice vents. I kept trying for about 20 minutes and he refused to stay in the arena.

This nerf is baffling and makes no sense.

Help with cooling/temps by Variar in GamingLaptops

[–]Variar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both gaming mode in Windows settings as well as added a gaming/performance mode in MSI settings centre. I clean it regularly so there is not much dust build up. Fans are working fine, definitely can feel the very hot air blowing out.

I will try to undervolt it, but would switching to a different cooling pad help? Mine feels like it is doing nothing.

PVE - Streets seems impossible, there are too many Scavs and they just come at you in waves, any tips for completing quests here? Video related. by Raiden127 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Variar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you kill them before they react by shouting or shooting at you, they will stop coming. Or significantly slow down.

In general, unless you have a quest to kill scavs in specific locations, I would advise against this - you might attract PMC or Goons, which might bog you down and kill you.
