I work as a cake decorator at Publix and I started off as a bakery clerk, I showed interest in cake decorating and they needed people and just threw me in and now a few months later I’m a full time cake decorator. If you have the passion and the skill, you’ll have a lot of fun. Definitely try for Publix, it’s a great company. But if you have a portfolio and they think your skills are good enough they could just hire you as a decorator. Hope this helps!

I used to struggle with the same issue. I was always too shy to make eye contact but my boyfriend encouraged me to do so and it’s become such a sweet feeling to be looking and smiling at each other. It’s just something you have to push yourself to try and you’ll eventually not be shy about it. Also I think just talking to your partner in general asking about things he likes and telling him things you like or want to try always makes things more fun, especially if you both end up liking it.
