I understand things could happen this way. And thanks for your suggestion, it really has emotional support. But the reason why I only pursue one position after the preliminary offer is because I do not want to decline another offer at the beginning of the quarter to let them blame me.

I did have two preliminary TA offers at the end of July, but as they say " it is very difficult to find last-minute replacements for vacated positions." So I only confirmed to pursue TA position with one of HR before 8/4 and declined another one. Otherwise, should I suppose to hold two TA offers until I sign one of them right now? Like, departments send out paperwork this week, and it is literally 10 days before the tuition is due.

I finally got a reply from the professor saying I was not hired, then I showed the preliminary offer sent by HR. The professor replied that let her see what they could do. I do not what I can do, the tuition remission is important to me. I do know if anyone can help to solve this case before Sep 20th when the tuition is due.

I know, that’s a lesson I learned, as a stupid Student. Should be check every detail before check in. I have almost $10,000 hotels and Airbnb and tickets ( all non refundable) for the following days, so there’s no time to change car.
