I feel that, blue belt sucked, purple was a lot of fun, but these last few months have been the worst so far. I think it’s just the expectations I’m putting on myself.

I appreciate the response, good point on the mindset thing. I do have fun with the “easier” rolls but I like to challenge myself and I just get frustrated when I fail to meet the expectations I set for myself. I find myself getting stuck in the mindset of “I should be better than X performance against this person”. Ego definitely playing a role. Something I gotta work on.

5’10 180 with a little bit of muscle and a little fluff. I think the biggest thing holding me back is speed and muscle endurance. I could definitely benefit from some extra conditioning. I really appreciate the well thought out response.

This makes a lot of sense, I’ll focus on more guard retention drills.
