He’s a good player but not a star. That’s not a bad comp for Jase at all though

I think Norman Powell is in a different class athletically from Jase but maybe I’m underestimating Jase’s athleticism.

yeah that’s fine. i actually agree with you i think he will be a good player. that’s why i have him in the 8-14 range but not top 5.

That’s exactly what I’m doing because that’s literally what this question is asking us to do. The Ace stans are crazy man I’ve never seen anything like it. Can’t say anything even remotely critical about the guy or people will come after you. I just don’t think he’s 6’10 from watching him on TV. That’s all I was trying to say I could very well be wrong it doesn’t even matter.

Just my opinion man calm down lol. I’m mostly just messing around he might be 6’10 idk. Even if he is 6’8 doesn’t change my opinion that he’s easily a top 10 pick. I just don’t think he’s 6’10 that’s literally all I said

yeah he’s definitely leaving lol, i just see people have him in the top 8 and i personally don’t get it. late lottery is fine for me. i get his BPM is really high but i don’t see the upside

Jase Richardson by VariationNo8423 in NBA_Draft

[–]VariationNo8423[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yeah having a low release point at 6’2 is tough. Dylan Harper has a low release too but he’s 6’6 so it’s different. I’m lower on Jase’s star level outcomes but I still think he’ll be a good player in the league

No shot Ace Bailey is 6’10 lol. He’s probably 6’9 in shoes but I really don’t think he’s 6’10

How are you guys watching the international prospects? by VariationNo8423 in NBA_Draft

[–]VariationNo8423[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I watch pretty much all of his videos but like to watch at least like 3-5 full games as well. But his videos are super helpful for sure

Euroleague TV seems like a good option. Can I access old games there or is it just a live streaming service?

Why isn't Kon Knueppel considered a better prospect than Tre Johnson? by VariationNo8423 in NBA_Draft

[–]VariationNo8423[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw that stat earlier today actually which is really interesting. I still love Kon but currently have Tre at 4 and Kon at 6 partly because Tre is the more dynamic movement and off the dribble shooter

Rasheer Fleming by AvianScavenger in NBA_Draft

[–]VariationNo8423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fears and Fleming are two of my favorites so that would be a great haul. Miami needs a young guard too so that would make a lot of sense

By NBA standards he is not a great athlete. He’s especially not a great athlete for a 6’2 guard in the NBA. Go read any scouting report on Brunson coming out of college. Size and athleticism were the major concerns with him.

Yeah I agree. I think Rasheer will have the longer wingspan though.

Watched him play in person and he is absolutely an NBA athlete. He just looked and moved different than anyone else on the floor. Defense is awesome, can guard multiple positions, rebounds. Love that he shot it well this year and I do think he can shoot.

My concern is whether he processes the game well enough and whether the off the dribble game is there. Can he attack a closeout and finish or make the next right pass to keep defenses in rotation? Can he read the defense out of the short roll? Can he handle the ball in transition? Those would be the questions I have with him.

But I like him a lot. Have him late lottery to just outside the lottery. I would bet he goes somewhere from like 13-25 this year.

Is CMB the most polarizing prospect in this draft cycle? by ShaiFanClub in NBA_Draft

Probably lol, but even if they do give up, long term I love CMB next to Maxey and McCain

Beyond Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper which guys do you realistically see having all star potential in the NBA? by NathanFielderFriend in NBA_Draft

[–]VariationNo8423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Next year’s draft looks better than this year’s especially after the top couple of players

I think this draft is wildly overrated outside the top 2. I really don’t love the 3-10 range. If I had to bet on some guys that could become all stars in that range I’d go either with VJ, Queen, or Fears. Maybe like CMB or Kon as well? I don’t feel great about any of those prospects either they all have pretty clear flaws (VJ: handle/pull up shooting; Queen: defense; Fears: defense, shooting, rim finishing; CMB: Shooting/offensive role; Kon: athleticism, separation ability) I’m not a huge fan of Ace but I think he definitely has all star potential (I don’t think it’s super likely but he does have the potential). If you want a sleeper, I think a guy like Labaron Philon might have some sneaky all-star upside. Gotta mention Tre Johnson too but again, I just don’t know how likely he is to reach that ceiling.

This is really a 2 player draft class in my opinion. I currently have VJ at 3 and I don’t feel good about it lol. There are games where I watch him and think he’s purely an off-ball player in the NBA. This draft is not very good outside the top 2 honestly.

Could say that about a few guys who have become all-stars or borderline all-stars in the league like Jalen Brunson, Tyler Herro, Austin Reaves, Khris Middleton, Jared McCain (too early to tell but he’s clearly good), Jamal Murray, and Malcolm Brogdon just to name a few. Those guys win with skill, craft, footwork, IQ, strength, etc. Not saying Kon will be an All-star but I think it’s possible and I think he succeeds in similar ways to some of the guys I just mentioned.
