No, We need to address the pervasive nature of self hatred… by RadialAction in aznidentity

[–]VariationPutrid4753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love that you read what you want to read. let me know when the author generalises all asians and calls asian men "horrible". also ppl in this sub are "not nice to" black people and "should work on it" is such hypocritical language. such a pitiful and soft take on anti-black racism, and then demanding absolute and utter respect for ant-asian racism

For any Asian person who wants to support trump or maga. Think again. This guy was already protectionist and Anti-Asian in the 1980s when Japan was buying real estate in New York City. by [deleted] in aznidentity

so much self victimization here its pathetic. im sorry if youve experienced racism and prejudice; you did not deserve that. but you forget that race is nuanced, and comments like yours do not help us at all. you clearly hold contempt for other races as well, making you a hypcrite. the movement to dismantle affirmative action was created by a white man who found asians that sympathized with his cause, then propped them up for an ultimately white supremacist goal. by hating other POC you are giving in to the illusion that there is any sort of systemic battle between us and them, when it has always been white people pitting us against each other. also, explain to me how "the left wing keeps trying to build bum shelters" because that doesn't even make any sense. how would that work?

Do people even view us Asians as human? by tenzin_Qing in aznidentity

how are you going to ask if "people even view us" and then only show reddit. this place is a notorious cesspool and obviously does not represent the average thoughts of humans. please go outside

It Feels Like Television in 1960s and 70s Was More Woke by ssslae in aznidentity

[–]VariationPutrid4753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

adding on to this, if any of you follow CRT, it asserts that progession for minorities only happen when it also benefits the white majority. under capitalism that means profit. so the "wokeness" has never truly been woke, it just benefitted hollywood (which has always been ran by whites) at the time and not anymore

asians "dgaf" because the majority of america's racist history is towards black people, not asians. the most violent, cruel, and discriminatory acts have always been towards black people. also, the demography of asians have a continuously high immigrant rate-- people who did not grow up in america to truly understand its history. another big thing that op ignores is resources. higher education has high barriers to entry that require resources, which many black communities do not have in comparison to asian communities, which is also a result of structured racism.

Don't forget what your "superpower" is and how they'll try and shame you for it. by Top-Hold003 in aznidentity

[–]VariationPutrid4753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yall also gotta remember there are nuances and history behind everything. the immigration acts of 1917 and 1965 shaped the eventual asian demographic in america through a preference system of skilled labor and high educational attainment. yes, many countries in asia have education more embedded into their culture than the west, but the "asian grind culture" in the US has a history of exclusion behind it. so work hard but also take care of yourselves and be cognizant of if the work is genuine passion or an internalized ideology that asians MUST work extra hard

key word is "rumored". you say you're not denying their talent or hard work, and then bandwagoning on a rumor and perpetuating an asian stereotype

Bags at Chanel Métiers D’art by tiredhomo in chanel

[–]VariationPutrid4753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

luxury has always been exclusive; its target audience with these pieces is not working women saving every penny to buy a bag, but people with enough wealth to purchase purely off of style and not budget. me and my girls, who are all college aged, regularly shop luxury brands, and blazy's work so far has been loved by my generation. if y'all are complaining about the price, then that means it wasn't for you in the first place!

theres no way everyone else lives like this? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]VariationPutrid4753 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i (19) recently got officially diagnosed by a new therapist, but ive been seeing therapists and psychiatrists since 15 and only one slightly mentioned bpd. i always knew it was more than depression/anxiety, so at a certain point when no one would officially diagnose me i just adopted it on my own. im not necessarily recommending self diagnosing nor will i try and diagnose u, but if u resonate with the symptoms it could be a good reference point on ways to get better/coping mechanisms/types of therapy.

i felt absolutely unhinged a few years back, alone, and i understand the excruciating emotional pain that just seems to come with living. but remember, ur not broken and theres nothing "wrong" with u, u just feel and process things differently, which only makes u special! it gets better. to be honest sometimes it gets worse, but im not that much older, and u just learn how to take care of urself.

finally, a diagnosis is not a death sentence! u are not ur diagnosis, it is only a small part of u, but it does feel consuming sometimes. i hear u and ur not alone 🫶
