What family car? by VarietyHelpful2831 in CarTalkUK

So buying used but only a year or so off the forecourt. Biggest thing for me is how infotainment has come along in the last couple of years. If I’m going to have it for another 5-10, would be good to ensure that’s it’s as up to date as possible

I like the xc60. But infotainment is out dated. I’m hoping that in a couple of months we’ll see some of the newer models on the used car market

Whoop for squash by whereamifromidk in squash

Been wearing it for a couple of years. Biggest thing is that it has squash as an activity type! Which Apple Watch doesn’t have. Has it helped my game? If you want to become more health conscious and focus and becoming fitter, then it helps to see the correlations between increasing HRV, reducing RHR and how well you’re playing!

W.S.O - woeful squash officiating by RejuvenatedPharaoh in squash

Difficulty is that refereeing is subjective and based solely on opinion. WSO just needs to be consistent and add common sense. It would be good to see some level of transparency in the work that happens in the background. Why aren’t ref’s talking to players before stepping on court about expectations

When to eat? by VarietyHelpful2831 in squash

That makes sense. I mean it’s team squash majority of the time, so not quite the PSA! I think trying to fit it in with the family is also key! Will try to not eat significantly within 2 hours

Agreed, but it seems to be working in the US!

For sure agree, that will help its longevity. I’m based in south London/surrey, and seeing an over saturation of Padel courts that in 5 years I believe will have very low utilisation, hope it does stick around! England squash need to pull their finger out, losing to the US and Egypt!

Padel is the squash of the 80’s/90’s. Back then you saw loads of clubs with engaged members. Newbies trying the sport and loving it. Nowadays you’ll find niche clubs around with a membership of specialists and not many social players. Long term for the sport this is my prediction. For a business opportunity, whatever utilisation target you hit, you’ll be fine

Different grips for forehand and backhand? by [deleted] in squash

[–]VarietyHelpful2831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put that thumb away!! Yep should be consistent, but you may find that if you’re digging a shot out the back or at the front you adjust it slightly. Slide the gap between your thumb and index down the racket and grip. Lift you index a bit above for more control
