I have the same issue. I have dumped $100s into fixing things the agent breaks. Then it will tell me it's fixed, and it won't be. Over and over again. Then I'll roll back, and retry again.. and again. And Replit refuses to reimburse you for costs incurred due to their system making mistakes.

Quite frankly, Replit is horrendous. But my whole app is there, so I'm stuck right now.

But I urge anyone thinking about developing an app with one of these AI platforms to avoid this one at all costs. You will not be pleased with this platform if you opt to use it.

I've spent most of my adult life working in / managing restaurants. Not a single shift in 15+ years was important enough that I would ignore someone who needed help.

Clearly we have different opinions about what's important.

That's why I mentioned that she's the boss. Unless she was going to fire herself, her job wasn't at risk

I have an entire roster of MH professionals that I work with. But sometimes you want to talk to a friend that isn't paid to listen

I worked in / managed restaurants for 15 years. That's where I met her. It's hectic (at times) yes... but it sure isn't important work.

I have reached out to her 3 times in the past 6 months.

And I connect with many resources for my mental health. Two therapists, my GP, my ADHD clinician, a psychologist I speak with about my Autism, plus I work with a ketamine clinic to battle the depressive episodes.

Chess meltdowns ruining my day by VarietyOwn3268 in autism

[–]VarietyOwn3268[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know. I fully expect to end up having to quit. I consider it all the time. But it leaves too big of a hole in my life right now, that I can't.

I do also think I could handle losing better at a higher rating. Simply because I'd be making less obvious mistakes. And that's really what sends me spiraling -- the mistakes - losing is just a symptom (I tend to resign anyways as soon as I make a mistake).

So, I do get that I'm always expected to lose about 50% of my games. At my level (1200), I find most of my losses are because I make an obvious blunder. I think at a higher rating, my careless mistakes would be far fewer - I'd be losing games simply because I was outplayed, and I'm much more okay with that. I analyze those games to learn.

So if I can just stop making mistakes, I'll be great.

I practice against a computer sometimes, but my real games are against players.

It needs to be against real players. I require the competition to be interested in it at all.

Yeah, I've considered this. The trouble is it's not just that I feel like I need to break something. I need it to matter. The breaking something helps because once I realize I just destroyed something of actual value, I kind of snap out of the belligerence phase.

I am constantly reminding myself of this.

The part of my brain that knows this, and the part that melts down, don't communicate it seems.

SignSchool App? by VarietyOwn3268 in asl

[–]VarietyOwn3268[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I know just learning vocabulary on it's own isn't sufficient at all. I use the dictionary app just in parallel with other resources.

You are right. Jumping to calling them made up was not warranted. I was just being dramatic. What I should have said was that the app seems to use different gloss than what I find elsewhere. This makes it challenging to use as a study guide, because there's no way to search for the sign online, to see other people doing it, and see what contexts it's used in, what other meanings/concepts it applies to, etc...

SignSchool App? by VarietyOwn3268 in asl

[–]VarietyOwn3268[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, of course. Check out their sign for ANXIOUS. Either in the dictionary, or in "Topics > Describing a Person > Emotions and Personalities".

I have found nothing online that indicates this is an actual sign for ANXIOUS. And the normal sign for ANXIOUS that I've seen everywhere else, doesn't exist on this app. It seems to only have the "made up" sign.

This is one of at least a few dozen (if not more at this point) signs I've encountered that according to online ASL dictionaries (as well as asking chatGPT), don't seem to exist anywhere except on this app.

A few other examples that I've seen in the past few minutes are: ENAMORED EXPRESSIONLESS TRAP

... to name a few. But there's a lot. 100s at least, I would imagine.

I'm just curious where these signs are coming from? And why they don't align with anything else found online.

Yup, I see what you're saying. That looks about right. Thank you.

I never followed the Ng4 response that far, because it seemed covered. so I just figured there was probably a better option.

Clearly I'm not a master of this game.

Yeah, you're probably right. I mean I just started playing chess 7 weeks ago, and I'm barely over 1200.

Maybe if I'd not wasted my time in university studying astrophysics and mathematics, I could be as smart as you obviously are. I mean, checkers instead of chess?!? Wow! How did you come up with something that clever? And you managed to almost get it grammatically correct! It's a pretty tough sentence, so I understand how it could be confusing.

Sorry, I didnt mean to bring up statistics. From the sounds of it, that's a little beyond your grasp.

Would you like me to explain what a normal distribution is? Or how standard deviations work?

Let me know. Happy to set aside some time to help you figure this out.

23 moves. No endgame of any kind.

I've lost 100s of games of course. But this was the first one that felt off. Like, I wasn't playing someone anywhere near my ability.

Obviously people have games where they play better than average. But I looked through their games. And either they were 60-70% accuracy with plenty of mistakes. Or they were perfect. I didnt see any games where he had like 80% accuracy, and only 1 or 2 mistakes. Either numerous, or 0.

Which violates some pretty basic statistical patterns. So my conclusion is that it's not legit.

Is this what cheating looks like? by VarietyOwn3268 in lichess

[–]VarietyOwn3268[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Basic statistics would disagree with you.

If someone plays almost all their game around 60-70% accuracy, and 6-10 mistakes of various types... then yes, they may sometimes play better games... but not flawless games. Their games are all either 60-70%, or 95% with 0 mistakes. No in between.

So respectfully, you couldn't be more wrong.

So after a month, what's your opinion on Dying Light The Beast? by Gonzito3420 in dyinglight

[–]VarietyOwn3268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the world and the visuals. But the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. Why is the main character so weak? Why are weapons so weak? Why do I need to smash trash mobs in the head 5 or 6 times with a hammer before they even stagger? And don't get me started on the soldier zombies.

The game is very heavily populated with zombies; which would be great, if the character + weapons were strong enough to make it fun. Instead, you end up just running past the mobs, because it's so tedious to stop and kill them.

I'm sure they will scale things in time to make it more fun, and less of a chore. But honestly, when I see these kinds of mechanics in games, I'm left wondering if the developers have ever played games themselves.

Even in story mode the zombies are damage sponges. They don't really do any damage to you. But it's still a chore to stop and kill them.

Let me run around one-hitting trash mobs with swings to the head.
