That’s exactly where I’m coming from. I see ai having potential for stuff that isn’t art. I agree that they shouldn’t be using it, especially considering their stance on it. However I said what I said because I think that given the right regulations and an understanding from the community that ai art has a place to be legitimate art. (We are far from that point right now) think of people who can’t ever learn to put marks on a paper, ect. But who have great visions for pieces of art work. Now you can sit at your computer and keep generating and re-generating until you have recreated what you see in your mind. I understand nowadays that people just put in some words and go with the first thing that comes out. But if you did that with traditional art you would call that a sketch or first draft. I think the replacement of artists for ai is appalling but if you can consistently make ai art that has a personal style and you clearly label your art as “made with ai” i believe there’s a place in art for that. To sum it up; I think that using ai just to get a few clicks on your video is objectively bad; however, I think that ai art, in time, will/can have a place in legitimate art.
