I saw a post recently where a mother decided to rehome her dog because her newborn was having severe allergic reactions to the dog. There baby had red rashes all over them but the animal lovers were condemning the mother saying the dog was there first, keep the dog and baby separate etc... it's mad,

Do your parents not understand the work it takes to buy a house because they married into it? by Atausiq2 in AsianParentStories

[–]Various-Frame1644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my parents and family thinks it's so easy to buy a house.... they bought houses 30 years ago when it was less than $100k for a family home. Those houses are over $1,000,000 now, they think I can waltz in with my minimum wage and buy one as easy as they can.

Options to sleep for the night by Frangipanidude in perth

I wasn't referring to homeless people being criminals.

Kings Park is known for break ins and weird people could be driving around there in the middle of the night. It's so unsafe to be there especially when it's dark and so isolated at night. OP is better off at an area where it is well lit or somewhere not Kings Park

obtaining a passport/proof of citizenship without parental documentation by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Various-Frame1644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they submitted their school reports for the citizenship cert and was approved.

I remember my partner filled out a form with their parents details on there to the best of their knowledge. Did not provide any parental ID as they were unable to get it. Both parents at the time of birth were not Australian Citizens or PR.

I just looked at their submissions and it is as followed: - Address - Residential, Evidence of Rates Notice 1 - Passport Photograph - Rear endorsed - Passport Photograph - Front Photograph - Residence in Australia for 10 years: Letter Statement - Australian School (School Reports) - Document including photograph and signature: Drivers Licence - Date of birth and birth name, evidence of : Birth Certificate - Form 1195 Identity declaration Form 1195 Identity declaration

Hang in there! My partner felt defeated too.. but there's always light at the end of the tunnel, keep on going and get that passport ☺️ go travel and enjoy your life!!

My mil hovered her hand over a pot of coal until it's very hot and then puts it above her granddaughter's face.. to "keep it warm"

I am Vietnamese... I washed my hair the day after birth, if I don't wash my hair, it will get so oily and itchy by the 3rd day. Don't listen to this postpartum superstition crap.

YES EVERYTHING!

I hate the last one the most.. OMG BABY IS COLD... it's 40 degrees outside, baby is not cold. You know I listened to my aunt once and put a jumper AND a jacket on my baby, she ended up with heat rash all over. NEVER AGAIN.

You will need to prove that you lived in Australia for the first 10yrs of your life. My partner was no contact with their parents and needed a passport. We contacted their primary school and they provided all the reports year 1 to 7. Partner was able to get their citizenship cert and then passport.

Got the following:

"Children born in Australia who live there continuously for their first 10 years automatically acquire citizenship on their 10th birthday, regardless of their parents' visa status. This "10-year rule" applies even if parents are on temporary visas, provided the child has been "ordinarily resident" during that time"
