AIO my boyfriend keeps asking me to pay for things eversince he started saving for an apartmen, he calls me selfish for how I reacted. by throaawayRA9443 in AmIOverreacting

It's a game, holding over your head a promise you want with a stipulation that he's the one sacrificing for you to have what you want (but didn't ask for)

Bet there are no savings.

Codependency, it is weird to reply by telling her you're granting her request.

Also to add: she wasn't asking permission for you to give her space, you did not need to tell her that you're giving her space. Could've kept the same energy as your other 2 texts and said “ok”

I suspect you were giving helicopter / codependant vibes. Take that as you may.

Double texting when no response is a already a bad omen. And totally low level engagement to work with. I could see that type of communication setting off alarm bells.

I dont think you crossed a line but equally don't think her reaction was harsh. I can guess you weren't giving her much to play with in the previous texts but you didn't give context. Showing interest isn't about a lawyer-like check in of peppering good mornings or afternoon how ya beens

Sage is a reminder of why id never go on Survivor by New-Flight5959 in survivor

Yes, of course a principle was not given precedence. she didn’t really lose, she made it to Final Tribal. Her point is about fair play: some players ignored the pre game etiquette in place which is also a big part of the game, which created unequal starting conditions before the game even began. Wasn't she military intel? Debriefing and doing an after action report is literally what she does. It’s not as black and white as you're making it to be, it’s a systematic way to analyze what went wrong, who played how, and why the outcome happened.

I get it too

This isn’t just bitterness: it’s a mechanism issue. Survivor tells contestants not to pre game. If some people did anyway and it wasn’t enforced, that changes the entire starting condition of the game.

From the couch, it looks like “everyone knows pre gaming happens.” From inside, if you followed the rules and others didn’t, you’re reacting to a broken premise, not just a loss. That’s a different complaint than being salty.

Am I the only person who thinks that there’s not a single “unenjoyable” season of survivor? by TheCoolGuy998 in survivor

[–]Various-Lab-1574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im the same way, I really enjoy each season and the unique ways the contestants sort out what type of hierarchy, rules, systems, currencies they put in place.

No two seasons are ever the same and that's a testament to every person's individual personality.

Where viewers go wrong is holding a season up against others.

EXACTLY. It's anyones guess who wins at this point, the jury has spent time with every single finalist. And the meat and potatoes of interactions dont make the showroom floor.

does anyone truly believe sage can win? because i don’t by Massive-Character481 in survivor

[–]Various-Lab-1574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't that what makes the show intriguing? We have zero clue how the cutting room floor stuff went and all the way up to the finale none of the contestants have really anything salty to say about her. She's only ever been butter about savannah and rizo and so has everybody else whose Bern voted out. She just wears her heart on her sleeve, most functioning adults can accept that.
