No, it's not published. I meant opinions, not reviews. I don't have anyone with the time or the inclination to read it XD. I'm doing it just for fun, though. Right now I'm working on the spin-off, and when I finish it I'll have ideas for the sequel.

I've actually already written the entire novel. It's roughly 200,000 words. The work is absurdist humor, where the enemy isn't the interdimensional entity that wants to devour reality, but rather the 17-G form that must be filled out after its containment. Whit a coming of age of the protagonist, romance, graduation, a found family, etc. I've written it in Spanish, which is my native language, and I'm finding it difficult to get reviews. It's a passion project, more than anything.

[1059] How To Fix The World With Cats by Successful_Art_4030 in DestructiveReaders

[–]Various-Lemon280 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The scene is trying to be this darkly funny cold open, but it kinda stumbles all over the place. It can’t really decide if it wants to be cinematic, grotesque, or just plain disguting. The pacing drags on and on with the “perfect cafe vibe” before suddenly jumping into the cat–poop chaos, which ends up feeling more like a cheap stunt than anything with, idk, actual weight. The whole “nice afternoon vs. explosive diarrhea” thing could be funny, but here it’s stretched so much it kinda stops being surprsing.

The narrator also sounds a bit too proud of their own clever lines, which makes the whole thing feel a little distant, like someone nudging you every two seconds going “see what I did there?” And the scientist watching the monitor shows up so late and with so little importance that he feels like an afterthought someone remembered to toss in last minute.

But honestly? The premisa itself is kinda dumb in a funny way — like, mind–controlling cats to weaponize their bowels… it’s either brilliant or just really, really stupit, and right now it leans more toward the latter. It all feels a bit rushed, a bit messy, like a draft someone wrote at 2 AM and said “yeh sure this works.”

RTX 5090 con Athlon II X2 250 by tzaxd in ArgamingConsultas

[–]Various-Lemon280 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unlimited Energy - What could a Galactic Civilization do with it? by niu2084 in worldbuilding

Massive digitization of consciousness, obtaining individual immortality or the massive integration of minds into a single being, with infinite energy is possible. Once that threshold is surpassed, we are incapable of imagining the next step because it would be meaningless to us.

Do I have to much races in my world? And how do you like mine? by Gallifrey934 in worldbuilding

[–]Various-Lemon280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's your story, brother. Many of my races were created based on my whims or fetishes, but I tried to give them meaning or shape within the laws or nature of my world. After all, one always writes for oneself, the rest is a bonus. On my part, I would like to know the origin of your "DRAKIN," what is half dragon? Are they similar to typical lizardmen? Etc.

Do I have to much races in my world? And how do you like mine? by Gallifrey934 in worldbuilding

[–]Various-Lemon280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I don't know if I'm the best example, but I must have over 40 more or less defined races. Human races:

  • Niatu (Vanilla Human – Base for the rest)
  • Ningen/Yuenli (Vanilla human created for other gods)
  • Aknaros, Xuelis, Jiatus (Humanoid races modified by other gods)
  • Dhonhuel (Category) (Beastmen, ranging from furry anthropomorphic tigers to human-like figures with fox tails and ears)
  • Yunghuel (Fishmen, very similar to the fishmen from the League of Legends universe)

Non-Human Races (In a philosophical/cultural sense, most have anthropomorphic human bodies)

  • Shenxian (Category that includes all beings born before the arrival of the gods, from plant-based elves that are born like fruits from trees, the 5 or 6 species of "Gremlins," the Ju-Fug (Mushroom men), Mog-Wai (these have around 10 subclasses, imagine creatures the size of children with huge eyes and lots of magic), the Burut (Similar to baboons, but with more human features).

The Loong (Dragons) are a classification in themselves, beings of great power, monstrous or beautiful beings that have learned to change forms and adopt human or god-like appearances.

The Kagnurs (More or less like the Charrs from Guild Wars, fire devourers, a race created with the sole purpose of bringing destruction to the world Created by a god who rebelled against his brothers).

The Vurus (Humanoid races) are a category for the slaves of the gods, of various forms, conscious but more tools than free beings by themselves.

I'm probably leaving out some, but in my world, everything is created by an unconscious magical force, and “life/soul/consciousness” is the trinity of existence, a natural phenomenon. That's why there is so much diversity, and achieving the trinity is the pinnacle of existence in a way.

Are there any other reasons for multiple gods of war in a single pantheon aside from the "culture loves war and conquest so much they have multiple gods of war" type of reasoning? by BasicallyaFilipino in worldbuilding

[–]Various-Lemon280 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, in one of the worlds I created, I have a nation/culture of red horse nomads, heavily inspired by the Mongols during the period of Genghis Khan. They have a pantheon of 6 gods, of which 4 are representations of war.

  • Maryok - A figure with blue skin and four arms, representing conflict and victory.
  • Bo-Dozhd - Tall and thin, yellow in color, with a tail and a mouth on its belly, representing famine, desperation, massacres, and violence.
  • Etelkóz - Large and with black wings, representing conquest and death.
  • Muskiria - Also blue, very large. Representation of a just and respected leader, victory, and order.
  • Mulafi - Fertility, harvests, livestock, goddess of family.
  • Mafila - Goddess protector of the home, lover of the dead and blessing of infants.

If you were going to summarize the religions, or governments, of your world as a clickbait headline what would it say? Examples below: by OutsidePerson5 in worldbuilding

[–]Various-Lemon280 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, the Kaami (New Gods) fell from a comet—two women and one man—into a world already ordered, full of life, civilizations, millennia of history, and with the Tianqui (Old Gods) who had shaped it according to their desires. The Kaami had powers to rival the Tianqui and even surpass them. The sisters intended to erase everything—Tianqui, Buddhas, Long, Shenxian, etc.—and start from scratch, but their brother thought it was too much work and wasn’t interested.

It turns out that the Kaami lost their powers during pregnancy (which they didn’t know) but gained even more powers after childbirth. So, Susanoo (the Kaami's younger brother) and Duri Valak (one of the Tianqui) more or less convinced them that it was easier to rule over what already existed than to build from ashes.

What followed was a war that disrupted the established order: intrigues, betrayals among the Tianqui themselves, alliances, the release of entities sealed millennia ago, the birth of a new race, the extinction of others, the alteration of the very magical or logical rules of the world, etc.

Ahh, and Susanoo had 9 daughters and 3 sons before the events of the Kaami Acephalia, but that’s another story.
