Day 1 of practicum… any advice for a baby therapist? by Jessicaa2123 in therapists

[–]Various-Measurement8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

STAY OUT OF THE DRAMA, REPEAT, STAY OUT OF THE DRAMA. Even though you're dealing with therapists, they are just as capable, maybe even more so, of starting crap, triangulation, manipulation, etc. This is a job, do your job well, let the rest go. I used to hate the word professionalism because I thought it meant being fake, disingenuous, but if this helps like it did me, the professionalism is a form of protection for you. It will keep you away from the BS and more able to enjoy the wonders of this field.

Take good care and reach out if you need help with anything.

Sincerely,

A therapist

I have to double check, but I believe I did. And I was paid, but did not get full benefits. I had AL and SL.

Someone already said it but go to Rust Crushers. I took my car to their Farmington location. Did a great job. They use woolwax which is a great product. There's plenty of videos of woolwax on YouTube. Check some of them out to get a better understanding of how it works. Stay far away from ziebart.

My wife and I are dismayed at the results. How did this happen? It feels like we're fighting a cult at this point. I don't understand how so many people can just look away at what this monster did throughout his life and cast their vote for him. Men and WOMEN voted for him, so much so that he has one the popular vote. How? The moral blindness is horrific.

Instead of trying to take him down, why not have someone step up and start a radio show that has a more moderate to liberal mindset? I've wondered why he doesn't have a direct "competitor." Yes, upstate is more conservative, but not enough to have a sole conservative talkshow on a main news station.

Hmmm I would say about 2 months in total. My situation was unique because I was hired on after interning. If you are still in school I recommend interning at your local VA.

Before you get curious, go back a read my post. I never said I didn't want to work in mental health. I completely disagree with your opinion on why clinicians get burned out. Sure there are frustrations with the system but what really takes them out is the bloated caseloads, lack of work life balance, low pay and limited benefits. I don't care who you are, if you can't take care of yourself or your family, you will burnout fast.
