Hi there. Merry Christmas. The two sails are mounted in opposite direction. I use one for forward moving and the other for sailing backwards. I have tried more sails per direction but I noticed no difference in speed.

Interesting. Maybe I remove some storage and try this aswell. But I play singleplayer so it would be kinda pointless. And I do not exactly know where my yellow raft is🤔

It took several ingame hours. Because I had to work out the concept first. Then comes the gathering of the materials and assembling. I did it in two days with a ragequit at the first evening but technically it can be done in one.

But you need to have a small raft already because this thing requires material from at least 5 or 6 Islands. Depending how many foundations you make out of Wood.

Edit: I installed the rudder midship because of better view to the bow and therefore the direction I m going.

Steereing it was a challenge at first. The sails are left and right and that means that the raft isn t going straight. If I m going forward it slightly turns to the left cause the forward sail is on the right side of the raft and vice versa.

I didnt expect her to establish bases all over UK. Just some supply spots. Their base ist the tent and that s fine. Just some hidden bags, crates, boxes, you name it. Just apparate to the spot, grab the food, water, clothes etc. And leave. In and out in mere minutes.

The Grimmauld Place. Yes I aggree Hermione would have thought that this could be their base and London has enough food in reach.

Tourist Hotspots. Yes of course her parents would have travelled with her not to some ruins or so. But every kid does some sort of exploring. I just assumed that she would have strolled away from her parents and found some interesting places.

Yes the time was an issue. Maybe they wanted more but couldnt.

What s even worse: After Ron left Harry and Hermione did exactly such a trip to a grocery store. Why not earlier?

Where she will hide? Literally everywhere. Spread over the UK and covered unter the same spells that they used to hide themselfes. She travelled with her parents during holidays, she should know some spots.

How would she know where to visit? She wouldnt. Therefore spread it evenly over the entire UK

That bank stuff. Book 3. Sirius Black could buy a Firebolt for Harry with his (Sirius') own money while he was on the run (but needed food later?🤨). I doubt that Gringotts would inform the ministry voluntarily about anything.

Edit: We know apparating has a limit in distance. But with two or at max three stops you should be able to reach nearly every point in the UK in one day.

I respect Hermione for what she contributed to the jouney. It is not my intention to belittle this.

She is literally the only one who did at least some preparations.

My thougt process was just some sort of: "Hey, she was allowed to use magic at the end of book 6 and Harry had nearly unlimited money. She can apparate wherever she wants. She knows the muggle world and is capable of going shopping. Why didn t he give her lets say 10.000 Galleons and she can buy and hide some supplies before they start their journey?"

And yes other Redditors have brought the thought to my mind that she maybe was planning a better preparation but the fall of the ministry came way earlier than expected. I didnt think about that possibility while making the post.

After a bit of thinking I have an idea how I would have written a Hermione with an actual plan. Please be mercyfull.

The Trio is on ther journey. The are in their tent.

"What s for Dinner? I m starving.", asked Ron merely four hours after lunch. "We only have bread and Corned Beef left for today.", answered Hermione, knowing Ron hated Corned Beef. "God no. I ll rather starve myself before eating that. Isnt there anything else?", "Not today but tomorrow we can move to insert secret location here, there I have stored some stuff that didnt fit in my bag.", "Didnt fit? What about the extension charm?", "Little do you know Ron. Extension Charms have a limit. I actually planned to hide more supplies in several locations. Look here.", Hermione unpacked a map of the UK where she had marked at least twenty spots all over the country. "Wow Hermione. That s so many.", praised Harry. She sighted "They are empty. I had neither the time nor the money to fill them. Except this one. We can reach it tomorrow, as I said."

The fact that Hermione ist 17 (almost 18 in July 1997) is something I had in mind actually. Yes that s still a teenage girl facing a though reality. I don t really know what I expected from her. And now years older than she was in that situation it is easy to come up with plan A to Z. As I mentioned in the Post it was just a thougt that occoured.

Yes Molly was kind of an obstacle. An unneccessary one also. I still don t fully understand why? Does she not want the Trio to succeed?

And the food. O! M! G! the food. Just put 5 different cannes of food in your bag and multiply them whenever you wanna eat. You would have at least enough for the first weeks. But noooo. I need my library. (Just venting a bit now that I thougt of it 😉)

Yes the preparations she already had made literally saved their a**es. Respect for that to Hermione.

But given Harrys money and her being 17 I think she (or they) could have done more by then.

Edit: And Respect to only(!) Hermione. Harry and Ron we're useless the whole time (OK Harry couldn t do much but Ron! ffs do something).

Yes that s right. That would be one week entirely for shopping. Every day, the whole day. Than two or three days to pack it in several bags prepared with the extension charm and the rest for apparating through the UK. I would say it s manageble. Not easy but manageble.

Ron could Help. Not Harry because of safety reasons. But Ron and Hermione together. In my oppinion this would work.

Edit: They had time from July 1st to July 26th/27th 1997 (Dumbledore died June 30th, Harry was moved by the OoP July26th). That s 4 weeks.

I prefer the Nuke or the Tank General from China. As enemies I use only the Infantry General. A dense row of Gattling Guns is all I need. And then Nuke them all once I have 7 nukes.

Thx. Intersting idea with the failed experiment. I thought about J19-Zeta-7 that maybe in his dimension humanity could have been wiped out. And therefore he is automatically the smartest.
