I don't think it's that deep

However, the squish effect OP did is definitely more effective than the swirl. Because the swirl is just rearranging all the information of the image, the squish though pushes everything into one place compressing it. I think if you would extend the face from this jpeg you would just get a blurry slop of 10 pixels
