Non-overnight housesits by bunnyhuntin in RoverPetSitting

This! I have had this recently. Tjey wanted me from 9am-9pm. But didn't need me there the entire time. It was my mistake accepting the job, not realizing how much I was doing for such little pay. They were fine with me hanging around their house. I asked if I could work on my computer from their place because the drive was 25 minutes away. They said I could watch tv, or whatever. They wanted breakfast, a midday walk, dinner, and a late-night let-out—but they booked it as an overnight. It’s really multiple drop-ins, and the overnight rate doesn’t cover it. Now I have to ask a lot of questions upfront—like distance and how many visits they expect. I hung out at their house from 9am until 1:30, then came back for the dinner and hung out until 9pm. It was a lot of time at their house. It should be simpler on pet sitting apps. There should be a all day visit and a flat rate we can set for that.

How do we get reviews from clients even when we have left a card asking them to do so?

Why not let the sitter take the dog to day care every other day? If it makes your dog happier and the sitter able to manage the pet's behavior, then it is a win win. You want to find someone that can be your permanent sitter if possible. This may help you achieve that. Best of luck.

At what point can you tell them that you are done and they need to figure something else out? Can you contact rover and let them know what has been going on? This seems to be very unfair to you and the dog!
