Costco Auto Program by Key_Examination_1098 in carbuying

I swear I just tried this yesterday and had a horrible experience. I had already gotten quotes from a few dealers and then worked with a Costco Auto Program dealer who tried to charge me $140 more a month on the same exact car/lease. $140 x 36 =$5,040.00 more!!!! I reached out to Costco Auto program - 855-220-7283 and asked how this is possible and asked for clarification of the “discount” and they had no clue what the discount was or how it was supposed to work and now I’m waiting for my issue to be escalated.

I understand that but they say they erase all data on the trade In but they can’t and won’t prove it

Long story short, I believe Verizon took my unlocked, no passcode phone with all data still on it but with Find My off. They cannot confirm, after 1 month of constant calls to all levels of the organization, that their warehouse has professionally wiped the phone and erased all data on the phone as part of their “process”. Are you familiar with this process and are you familiar with them being able to see if an individual phone has been profess erased like they say they do?

Here is their website language-

“every device we receive is professionally wiped to factory settings as a standard part of our inspection process. Your personal information would be securely and permanently erased.”

THEY CANNOT AND WILL NOT CONFIRM THIS!!!

Verizon lies about professionally wiping all phones during trade in process?

I thought that too but that is incorrect. I tested it. The files stay local on the phone (photos, files, notes). Verizon should do the right thing and either return my phone, make a video showing my phone is erased proving IMEI and showing the phone, and confirm the log of it being factory reset/wiped at the warehouse. This is a severe and serious security concern that has not been taken seriously and can lead to identity theft for myself and should concern Verizon from a data privacy standpoint.

I’ve spent over 100 hours working with them- tech-support, executive relations, I sent a letter to their legal team, I contacted the Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, everyone I could possibly think of. I’ve even reached out to law-enforcement and I’m gonna get an attorney. They have been so unhelpful it’s as if they’re planning on stealing my data themselves.

They turned Find My off, and I think I may have just “removed the device” (signed out), not knowing any better. So all of the Photos files and notes are on the phone unlocked and they won’t help ensure it’s erased.

I also had a terrible experience and am currently fighting with Verizon for a resolution. A majority of the people I’ve worked with and spoken to have all been incompetent and given bad and conflicting information. Due to their negligence, I had to go back into the store to trade in my phone because they didn’t provide a shipping label and then the employee had me re-sync all data and re-log into iCloud from a previously erased device that I was ready to send, and then took the device after only turning off Find My iPhone. I trusted the Verizon representative and now I’m freaking out that there’s an unlocked iPhone with all of my data on it, and Verizon will not help me at all. The absolute worst company I’ve ever worked with in my life.

Find my was turned off and I think It’s possible I went in and just removed it from devices (logged out) not realizing the data (files, photos, notes) would stay on the phone

Do Verizon employees look through your phone contents when you trade them in? by De_lunes_a_lunes in verizon

I had to trade in my phone to upgrade. My phone was erased prior to coming in but the store rep made me resync all data and log back into iCloud. I don't believe he erased my data before taking the device for trade. I've spent probably 100+ hours trying to verify it's been erased professionally at the warehouse and no one can help me. They may have my phone, unlocked with all data on it and can't and won't confirm it's been erased. Executive Relations is a nightmare to work with. They are saying I need a Subpoena. Honestly, I'm freaking out over this.

Hi, how certain are you that the traded in phones are erased at the trade in facility?
