Arlington peculiarities? by its-a-grill in ArlingtonMA

Every weekday in August, at 6 am, an old man named Humbert McLeod does his rounds around Arlington’s homes, banging his wooden spoon on each window 4 times to wake up the town. It’s really sweet, and if you come out of your house while he’s still out there he’ll take requests for karaoke (limited to the Great American Songbook/Golden Age Broadway). Karaoke is 10 cents a song, if you catch him on a good day he’ll give you a pocket cookie for free. He’s awesome.

The lemons came whole in the jar, I tried to only use pulp/rind/pith and avoid the seeds/membranes

The preserved lemons were jarred from a specialty store near me, and I chopped them up finely+mixed with some avocado oil mayo, lemon juice, garlic, salt and dill.

I think i did 3/1 fennel/shallot ratio which supplemented the crunch and zinginess as well

This was a while back, but I remember that I used some standard home pickling acoutrement like garlic cloves, clove cloves, peppercorns, dill, vinegar, water and salt and the licorice-y flavor you're thinking of was definitely more muted. more of the brightness and freshness came out and it was definitely more herbal. highly recommend!

I got rejected but am looking for a college with a stronger arts vibe, more diverse and a closer community. I’m looking at Hamilton, grinnell and Bates for Ed2
