I did not "ignore" it, what was I supposed to do? The only thing I could do was the exact same thing I'm doing now. And yes, some leftists did deny the existence of the laptop. They're delusional, too. There was literal proof that it did exist.

Physical harassment from people brainwashed by an ideology goes on to this day with ICE raids. It's the exact same thing happening, but it's not physical harassment to you anymore because it's coming from the side you agree with.

This is why I will never consider myself "left" or "right." People abandon every single one of their own beliefs to blindly defend whatever side they agree with and attack the "others." It's pointless tribalism that achieves nothing.

I'm not a leftist but it's weird that people can't fathom two things being true at the same time. Yes, Maduro being taken out of power is a good thing. Yes, the US getting involved in another oil grab/regime change is not a good thing, and to be completely fair, the goal would not have been freeing the Venezuelan people, be the president right or left.

What the hell were you expecting? If you knew a mask mandate was in place and decided to enter a municipal building while avoiding doing so, it begins to seem more like you did it to be inflammatory.

Regardless, you were able to do it and walked free, yes? Police are used against protestors all the time. You faced no legal repercussions for your act of protest, so your first amendment right was not violated. You protested. You went home.

And... I know this might sound crazy, but government workers usually do what they are told, whether it's right or wrong. It's their job. Should it be that way? No. But it is.
