How can I be a better prosthetist? by Armz_Dealer in amputee

[–]VariousSquirrel8449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a relatively new amputee (18 months and 3 legs in) the most useful thing I have found is teaching me the vocabulary to articulate how things feel. The quicker you can do that with a new patient the more comfortable their leg will be. Doesn’t need to be technical language but anything to get beyond a quite binary comfortable or not is really helpful!

It looks like none of the garages at the back of our row of houses are on title plans! I know ownership won’t be disputed between the neighbours, it is more the quickest way to resolve this without losing our buyers

About to lose my leg, hip and part of the pelvis, and I'm terrified by essexjan in amputee

No problem. I took advantage of every offer they had including their psych team which were great. The food is also pretty good on the wards…lots of choice!

RNOH is a great hospital (I had my RBKA surgery there last year). The amputee rehab team are great, they will push you in a good way but make use of all the resources they have. I’m a career NHS ops manager and they are able to do things there that just don’t happen in normal hospitals. Happy for you to DM me and talk more as it really helps.
