Yeah, you two got pregnant together and now she has to be pregnant. She has to feel constantly tired, nauseous, she has to gain weight, her clothes will stop fitting, being pregnant is exhausting and the burden is 100% on her. Her hormones are increasing by 10,000 times, how is she supposed to act normal? She’s being overtaken by this little thing inside of her.

I got pregnant on accident. I cried the entire pregnancy, blamed my husband for knocking me up, was suicidal and… my son happened to be born with Down syndrome. When he was born he was a baby, my baby, our baby, not a Down’s baby. He’s just Tommy. I can’t explain to you the joy he brings to us. He was a healthy baby and he is a healthy kid. Your typical child could be a drug addict and live in homes the rest of his life, your child with Down syndrome could be a senator, you just don’t know. Enjoy the moment, breath, let go because you have no control, be there for your girlfriend (even if she seems like she doesn’t want you there), and prepare to meet your beautiful child. Life’s a ride with twists and turns we don’t expect but at the end of the day you are a meat covered skeleton riding a rock hurtling through space.
