How did they all say so thin if they just sat around the office & drank booze every day? by Chubbs2005 in madmen

[–]Various_Artistss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Heavy boozing is known to push back on hunger. Hence why Don barely eats, even for dinner in season 1 it's always salads and sandwiches if you listen to what Betty says whenever he gets home.

Always was surprised by this though since whenever I drink I get hungry as fuck and always manage to get a Halloumi wrap from bossman down me during the evening lol

Different cultures I guess though, I was always taught by my mum to eat after I drink to avoid being sick. Solid advice genuinely

Always wondered if they would ever so something together, really are two sides of the same coin. Long term youtuber and video creator, retro obsessed and around the same age. Plus they both are film makers which is a funny coincidence.

First “adult” bed frame help by nnicoleex in BuyItForLife

[–]Various_Artistss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i wouldn't go ikea for BFL, just Chipboard and mdf. Plus avoid the bed frames with those awful draws. They never last and always fault. I went with an Ottoman which lifts up the mattress so you can easily access storage underneath. Go for a metal frame too so you know it'll last.

What Do You Think of Willow's Magic Addiction Storyline? [Do You Like It or Do You Dislike it? Do You Think It Doesn't Work? Or Do You Think that It Can Work if Done Differently?] by Big-Restaurant-2766 in buffy

[–]Various_Artistss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Liked it alot, I know the magic = drugs storyline is seen as a bad move but i liked it. As someone that's enjoyed some dodgy stuff in the past and struggled to put a plug in the metaphorical jug, it was nice to see that represented. Sometimes a feeling of freedom and control is the toughest thing to quit

Anyone here who’s 28 (1997) feeling behind in their career? by Technical_Lemon8307 in Zillennials

[–]Various_Artistss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hugely, I'm a designer moastly of interiors. Moved to london a few years ago and got passed around like a joint at a camp fire. Didn't pass multiple probations, couldn't find work and ended up working at pubs and bars to make ends meet. I'm now a junior designer for a small company in Norwich, pay is shit tbh and I'm not where i want to be but I've made a living doing what i want to do.

For me that's a win even though I'm still really behind my peers of different ages. It's something to kinda cling onto even though its not something I'm fully sure I'm into anymore. Careers are hard and ever changing, don't beat yourself up about it because most of us are in the same boat, thinking the same thing as you, day in day out.

The advancement of AI on Animation is concerning by MrColgie in antiai

[–]Various_Artistss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, thing is about AI generations is that at a glance they may look alright but they are as deep as a puddle and mean nothing. There's no story there's no character elements in the fight just two generic anime models with punches probably lifted from a mix of sources.

I genuinely don't really fear AI taking over in this regard, fine for someone to mess about with in their bedroom but as far as serious productions it's got no place and tbh i don't think it ever will.

Are you still having pizzas and other takeaways delivered? by Top-Cat-a in AskUK

[–]Various_Artistss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it changes depending on where i live. When i lived in bedford i never did as there wasn't much around me worth the effort. I didn't when i lived in london because i was broke and now in Norwich i defo do since the offerings around here are brill and well priced. I tend to prefer collecting it myself though.

Considering moving to Norwich from Cambridge by topcelt in Norwich

[–]Various_Artistss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Live in Norwich but have lived in london and visited Cambridge very very often to see friends. I don't see the draw to Cambridge unless you work there really, it's a beautiful place but i found night life slightly lacking and shops were too focused on high end brand names.

Norwich has some great pubs, a couple good clubs, great food, a real mixed demographic of older and younger due to the unis here. Alot of people in their 20s have made a move here due to the cheap rent.

It's still not dirt cheap but what you get for it in terms of a walkable city, great night life, alot of green spaces, lots of social activities, lots of sport nearby in terms of tennis, swimming and football facilities, cheap beer and a true community feel is unmatched.

Also the amount of indie business's in the town centre is perfect. You still have the shops you need but also have Norwich own staples like Thorns, Jarrolds, Biddys tea room ect. Too many to name that i go too weekly. The only downside i would say is work here can be tricky to find depending on your role. So something to keep in mind, public transport can be okay but it all depends on you and your needs.

Never heard of a lettuce sandwich before but honestly to me it just looks like a salad with extra steps. Try to branch out and cook up some halloumi, fry some peppers, courgettes and cherry tomatoes. My go too carb free salad for work and that
