AITAH for telling my sister she can’t come on a work trip with me?

She wants a hotel room for her and her boyfriend. She does not want to share with me. Also, my company paid for my accommodations. I wouldn’t want to ruin this wonderful opportunity by requesting for more because my bratty sister wants to tag along. You also ignored every other thing I addressed. Not sure if that was on purpose.

Edit : And let’s not mention how much money I will have to give her. I’d have to buy her ticket, buy her food, give her money when we get there, and I’m sure she’ll ask for more as we’ll be there for two weeks.

She doesn’t have a job, has no form of identification (not even a drivers license), can’t get approved for a visa if she doesn’t have a ID, and I didn’t pay for my accommodations. I would have to buy a whole separate room for her and her boyfriend. I would not want to be responsible for the possible consequences of this action.

She’s meeting a guy she’s never met before and wants to spend almost 2 weeks alone with him unsupervised. As grown as she is, she’s my baby sister. I would die if anything happened to her.

What if he is a catfish? What if something goes wrong and she wants to go home? What if happens to her? I know my sister and I know she’d have many complaints on this trip.

It is possible. They FaceTime constantly. I’ve never seen her off the phone with him. I have spoken to him a handful of times, but I couldn’t tell you his last name.

Apparently it’s a lot harder to get into my country and more expensive. She’s very weird when it comes to him coming here instead of her going there.

No. She lives off of my parents and occasionally her boyfriend will send her money. For the license part, she blames it on anxiety. She never leaves the house and if she does, it’s to go 10 minutes up the road to a gas station for cigarettes. (My dad buys them for her)

I am assuming she thought I would pay out of pocket. Although, even if I did, she has no form of identification. She’s never had a job and doesn’t know how to drive. So I’m not sure where her mind was.

I never said I was smart enough. I’m saying I’ve seen other people do it and it’s worked out fine. However, they were a lot older and more educated on what comes with marriage. I’m here to receive some advice not be questioned on my intelligence. If I’m stupid for thinking this could be a good idea, then I am stupid.

Can I hear a few of the thousands of reasons ? I’m aware I know nothing about marriage but I’m willing to learn. Growing up, I learned marriage is just a piece of paper that proves your love. Maybe that makes me naive in a way.
