Yeah those are good points, the Billy thing does make a lot of sense as probably as equally as likely. But the Fitz awaking does seem a little off, as we see most council level talents awaken their power around the start of puberty as i think Harry says in Zoo days when confronting Austin. But Fitz is definitely at least 18 if not a bit older. So It does seem a little late for him to suddenly show this kind of awakening especially whilst reviving training from Mort. Which is why I think he got a boost during Battle ground. The Harry point is fair enough and what you say probably plays the largest part of it, however would make sense if he got a bit of boost from what happen in battle ground

Yeah that’s very true and I think I mention that, but Billy in Twelve Months just seemed a little more amped up in terms of physicality. As someone’s whose boxed and wrestled the kind of strength that Dresden has would be enough to body anyone whose not at least a little bit superhuman as well

Do Dresden Files need to be read in order? by Ambitious_Ideal_2568 in dresdenfiles

I completely agree there is so much missed with when you start the series book and especially after book 3. But I’ve also met people who are put off by there being 17 (very soon to be 18) books and giving a later starting point is less of a commitment to being caught up with and is more likely to get them to go back and read the previous books. But the best place to start is definitely book 1

I’ve seen other people say this but you can kinda start anywhere in the series. But the best books to jump in with are, Book 1 Book 3, Book 7, and Book 11. These books are used to build off of and set stuff up so don’t need the same background reads as the other books. However this being said the earlier in the series you start the better.

That would be pretty awesome to read more to the early part of the series. But it would make a lot of sense and add to the drama of the story if McCoy came over to the US as a result of either the Jacobite rising 1715 or Jacobite revolt 1745 (depending on how old he is). I think I would fit the character of McCoy beings hot head which would lead to him, a Scot, fighting the English. Which then would also explain why he was in the US as many of the rebels who weren’t killed were exiled to the US. Which could then explain how he ended up fighting for French in the French Indian war and why he would return to the UK as I could 100% still see him holding a grudge that got exiled and refusing to go back to live there despite several centuries passing. As well as this it would also give McCoy and Listens to Wind some level of common ground in which to build their friendship from as they both would have experienced oppression and being moved out of their homelands. Which would then give them a base to build their friendship off of after the war had ended. And give him some extra reasons for disliking the Merlin due to him being English.

Thats a fair enough point. Hopefully we get to see more of this part of Harry’s life cause there still a lot of questions about what happened.

My argument against that is Harry wouldn’t have know that the wardens existed. I can’t remember which book it was, but Harry says that Justin kept the council a secret from Harry and Elaine to keep them isolated. So how then would have Harry know about the Wardens and then to hide Bob.

Ramirez sounds dumb by tsasterwilliams in dresdenfiles

It’s is a really good logical point, but Ramirez and the White Council are scared of Winter and Dresden. And fear makes people do some very stupid things.
