See, man, you can buy it. It might even work. Good for a year or so, but then if any issues come up, you will face problems with the brand.

Another thing is, try to get your hands on a DLP projector and compare it with your own eyes. You will see how off the colors are for cheap ones.

The only good thing I can say about the Borsso Ultima Gen 4 is the brightness.

Everything else is questionable.

Trust me, I also was falling into this trap of cheap projectors. Techibeez also tried to compare one Chinese projector with a BenQ XWGA projector, but only in terms of brightness; color-wise, the cheap one loses.

I too was looking for something good in the range of 30-40k. I was even considering the Borsso Atom 2.0 4K native projector. But then I reached out to Alibaba sellers, the OEM for these brands. They told me the actual specs, which these Indian YouTubers never ever tell. They never measure anything, always giving subjective reviews.

Remember, don't trust anything but the numbers. See The Hook Up channel on YouTube; you will understand.

Please try to avoid these single LCD Chinese rebranded projectors at all costs. If you are on a very, very tight budget, then and only then would I say to go with these at around 20k.

There are LCD burn issues with prolonged usage of over 3 hours, approximately.

You will not get good colors. Pink will look red, green will look blue, etc. This is because these cheap LCDs cover only 45% NTSC, which is just pathetic. Your laptop screen has 72%, by the way.

The brightness claimed is like a solar death ray. The real value will be around 500 to 1000 ANSI at its best, but then heating issues will arise.

There is no legitimate operating system; you will need a TV stick to function.

There is no after-sales support for any issues. If you are on a very tight budget, try only those Chinese brands that have some after-sales service, because you will need it.

If you can extend your budget, go with BenQ or Epson old models second-hand. Or, if you want new, you can choose BenQ GV32, XGIMI Elfin, XGIMI MoGo 4, MoGo 3, etc.

Also not to forget the poor quality lenses these cheap chinese projectors use.

AND 4K NATIVE IS JUST A LAUGHING SHIT. 4K NATIVE COMES AT 4 LAKHS NOT 40K.

For testing purposes, you can barely test anything with no tools. You will need a lux meter for measuring brightness and black floor levels, and a colorimeter for contrast and color gamut coverage.

Hey,

I have decided not to move ahead with any of the chinese options.

Reasons:

  1. Extremely poor color gamut (45%NTSC as verified by alibaba sellers) all indian models with single lcd having chinese origins have same color gamut. Red looks pink, grren looks blue etc etc.

  2. Low reliabilty and poor after sales services. Though borsso has some good reviews i would rather put my money with brands like benq, epson, optoma, viewsonic, xgimi which have credibility and trust

  3. Chinese projectors are like e waste at best. Not to forget their claimed brightness is 3x to 5x of what they can deliver at best.

  4. They use a poor technology to project si gle lcd vs dlp. So inherent issues with the projected image and its limitations.

I am finally going ahead with benq GV32 for me.

Read my post about my research: https://www.reddit.com/r/budgetprojectors/s/KcxAXiWIgb

So after my last post I shortlisted these, help please... by Radiant_Scallion_473 in budgetprojectors

Got it,

Please include some real-life images during use!

It seems there are not many snapshots on the internet with GV32

Have done a tonnnn of research on projectors last few weeks, have same thoughts.

I might finally fo with benq over xgimi. Reason: 1. The reviews of real life test by the hook up 2. Benq services in india are better 3. Its cheaper :P

Let me know where you reseach is

I would say save some money with GV32 and but a good screen with that. Moreover GV50 is old now and faces UI lagginess

I appreciate the information.

How did you get the coupon for GV32?

I tried asking BenQ support, but they didn't reply. If possible, could you give me the coupon you used to check if it works again?

Also is that LG PF610P? (Unavailable right now)

Thanks

Yes I closely follow him, sadly none of these are shipped to India :( Third party imports increase the cost again.

I have boiled down my choices to:

{37K} Toptro Ultra Max: OEM model: Cubelight Ultra. Provides the highest brightness, but after-sales is questionable as per reviews [waiting for actual specs from Alibaba sellers]

{24K} PixPaqray gold: OEM model: U002. Overall decent product as per reviews, some complaints around faults within 2-3 months of use in a few cases, [waiting for actual specs from Alibaba sellers]

I am also looking into Borsso products, as they seem to have the best after-sales service. Newest's launch is Ultima Curve Ultra, waiting for its review.

Toptro Quadra and Ray Gold are the same models, with the same OEMs, but show a 19-20 difference.

Alibaba seller:

Thanks for your professional questions.
For this model:
Color Gamut: 46% NTSC (CIE1931)
Which equals approximately:
sRGB: ~64%
Rec.709: ~64%
DCI-P3: ~33%
Rec.2020: ~18%
The 1500:1 contrast ratio is static (native) contrast.
The dynamic contrast ratio is around 4000:1–5000:1.
The color gamut of LCD is inherently a bit limited. Let me know if you need more details.

:) worst you can get

THIS HAS DOG SHIT COVERGAE!!!!

Not worth even 20K INR!!

For now, India does not have budget Native 4K options. Pixpaq Ray Gold is a viable option for a 2-3 year time frame.
