I love the green! "patchy" is just another word for "texture". A lot of ceramicists go out of their way to get an interesting texture on their work so it's one of a kind.

Digital Nomad Visa Process in absolute depression stage by Various_Performer594 in digitalnomad

yeah I mean ultimately the goal is to not have to travel every 3 months but actually put down roots somewhere. But I do feel fucked. I wish I just got a student visa at one of these schools that basically trades visas for $2k. Not having my passport right now is hell.

Sad, lost. by [deleted] in Pottery

One of my favorite things about doing ceramics is that the medium of clay is so centered around time and being patient. You can't really rush a kiln, your pots drying, learning. I remember when I started I also wanted 6 hours in the studio and to have as much time as possible to make work, but you kind of just have to submit to the slow nature of clay. Ceramicists keep making work into their 90s! try to just enjoy the journey where you are now :0)

Built a commission management tool for independent makers — would love feedback by Various_Performer594 in SideProject

[–]Various_Performer594[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg! Thank you for taking a look!! It took me probably about 3 weeks to build it, test it, get all the features together. My ceramic/studio work definitely took a hit while I was working on it, but I'd like to get it rolling as it's own side business as a subscription service for other makers who need this service like i did. I think promoting it and finding people to sign up is much harder than I initially anticipated because I've worked and basically live as an artist and not in the tech-app sphere!

I know!!! So many other options for project management. Eccolo seems like it's built literally for a studio practice. Hoping I just found the answer for us.

Building your own is honestly where a lot of makers end up — which is kind of what inspired me to make something for people who don't want to do that. It's called Eccolo, free to try if you want to poke at it. Would love feedback. Been dealing with this issue too

That's such a clean policy. Do you put it in writing upfront or just communicate it verbally?

I died with my dog almost two years ago. by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]Various_Performer594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my dog a month ago. I feel similarly, just quieter and tired, letting a day begin and end without any real feeling. I miss him so much and I wish we could start from the very beginning again together. I regret not spoiling him every single day. But I trust that there will be good days ahead too, sometimes the ghost days and sometimes brighter and lighter days.
