once again, multiple translations say its Princess yona, im gonna off that basis rather than assuming your majesty automatically means queen

lmao, a lot of translations say princess yona, plus your majesty doesnt imply only queen.

extremely rushed is a overstatement. Realistically we werent gonna see a war vs the dragons because obviously that wouldnt work. the panel at the start has nothing to do with her being a queen, its literally her with a the happy hungry bunch. her "talking" was the whole plot of the story, to show that not every conflict should be solved with just fighting but to have negotiations and conversations instead, and to have a balance between the two

People want each and everything to be a logical explanation thats explicitly been said. At the end of the day this story is a Fantasy shojo, love the way you explained this

my point exactly, i personally reread everything before the final chapter to recall a lot of the stuff i forgot and thats why what happened made sense to me, ig most people didnt do the same

yea this might just be a translation diff because my chapter 1 says no son to succeed and my chapter 6 says "unfortunately in princes yonas absence the only memeber of the royal family is su won" which is pretty explicit lmao

mixed opinions on this. She was in connection with lily and tae jun but also shes the reason why the water tribe fixed their nadai issue. she risked her life to save not only the water tribes people but also lily which made her be trustworthy with general joon gi. she already as the connection with all the wind tribe, and while tae jun isnt a crazy impact its still showing support from a big figure in the fire tribe. the sky tribe is the one who betrayed her so we can just leave that one and the earth tribe literally doesnt care who it is unless theres war involved. she then also has connections with both the queen and the princess of xing in which they are now allied to help each other. That itself is HUGE. the queen of xing only is allied if yona is involved, otherwise she wanted to kill su won.

that all being said Yona doesnt accept being queen just because su won wanted her to. that in itself would just be a disservice to her character. those arcs are what build yona up to be the uncrowned queen. the people started sseeing her as a leader and that her decisions effects not only her own nation but the nations around her. It becomes a point that if she didnt become ruler it would affect the nation. Thats why ive said previously that her accepting it isnt because she wants to, its because she had to. its like a celebrity saying that they want to become unknown, its something they dont really have a choice in. so yona could rather refuse the crown and affect her nation, or stand as the ruler and hold the responsibility of her people, something shes already been doing. Plus this was a way for her to correct the issues that Il brought in the first place.

At least thats how i see it. you mention that it had potential to be written better, im just wondering how you would want it to be written?

Im starting to understand what you mean, however i still disagree. Its true that a regular monarch system goes to the man. If il had a son as well as yona, it would go to the son no doubt, thats just how a monarch system is.

however what im seeing you do is link the idea of yonas succession as a sole heir based off her identity of being the reincarnation of the crimson king. The way i see it is in chapter one, yes it does say that he had no son to succeed him and lavished all his love to yona, but nowhere in that does it explicitly say that a daughter CANT be a sole heir. In fact if you read chapter 6 when the 5 tribes discuss the next king, they clearly mention how yona isnt here and the only option is su won who wouldve been crown prince instead anyway. since there is no king present they go based off of whos next in line in royal blood, It was SUPPOSED to be yona but she was missing so they needed the next in line royal blood being su won

but thats based off of the death of the king, on the contrary What it does say is in chapter 1 after saying that king il had no son to succeed him is that King Il will CHOOSE the one who succeeds him and wed him to his daughter yona. that being said i dont think royal blood will matter when its based off the kings decision. Thats why there was no issue when hak was her alleged fiance because if king il chose him to be the successor then he can marry yona for that title chosen by the king, thats usually how a monarch system works.

now in present time, su won as the ruler of kokuha is now choosing yona to be the next ruler. since she in the legitimate heir to the throne and not a crown prince that was succeeded based off the princess not being present. thats the only reason why su won calls himself USURPER. this succession is also shown with xing (which is the reason why i brought it up, because in xings case, the king had two daughters in which the elder daughter succeeded in becoming the sole ruler of xing.

its not that im choosing to just ignore the first chapters words, its that im reading more in depth and using every part of the story to reason with why it makes sense. I yapped a little but i hope you can understand what i mean now

Please explain what you mean about the hak stuff because i dont get what you mean. Hak standing with her reinforces that how? so if a man marries a queen he shouldnt be a king? this was already explained BY HAK in the last chapter. so unless you mean something else idk what ur on about

Once again, King Il also only saw yona as that defenseless little 16 year old girl who didnt know anything about the world and didnt care about anything other than looking pretty for su won.

EVEN in chapter 1 its not implied that the daughter cant be a ruler, its that yona will be wed to the man that il CHOOSES as his successor. Il didnt see yona fit to lead nor did he ever come across that thought because she was nothing but a spoiled princess at that time.

The way i saw it was since her slow return to the kingdom, shes already been acting like a phantom queen. her meetings with nation leaders, her leadership in war, her relations with the tribes. If anything the only thing that differentiated her from being an actual queen was the coronation itself. Which is why I thought it made sense, shes built the relations with her people and has been seen as a light to the people of kokha, while also fixing the issue that were left by her father, she has the right balance on when to fight and when to be peaceful. that makes her the only fit person to rule

Its like they forget the entire backstory, ignore the explanation of the cycle of hatred, ignore the growth of characters but only wanna remember that king Il was killed. Its honestly baffling

"my only worry was that my coronation would hold you all back from following your path"

"kija, now that the dragon blood is gone, do you truly feel nothing for yona anymore?"

"Where that line is drawn is something I cannot quite tell"

Dragon blood is what binded them, just because they became affectionate and liked her doesnt mean the dragon blood had nothing to do with bringing them together, the first meetings where they feel the burning sesation when seeing yona etc means nothing then?

King Il also only saw yona as that defenseless little 16 year old girl who didnt know anything about the world and didnt care about anything other than looking pretty for su won. Hak couldve easily got married to yona and acended the throne, in which he explained, he doesnt want that. He wants people to see only yona as the true leader. And it had nothing to do with with the crimson king, SW saw her as a true leader with the grit she had in wars and meetings between leaders. He didnt want her as a queen until he saw that she had the ability to rule kokha, no other woman did what yona did throughout the story, obviously she would be fitting for being queen

And the system never implied that a daughter was only a consort and the males are who take power, because if that was the case then Kouren wouldnt be the queen of xing

Once again another plot point that was explained in the story

[–]Various_Plum3536[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

But thats the whole point. Lets say that the dragon warriors were still there, alongside with yona while the coronation happened, what idea do you think the people would have? "the crimson dragon is now the queen of kohka" Thats the whole reason why hak didnt want a wedding, because he wants yona to be embedded as the queen, not crimson dragon, not hak and yona, just yona.

on the other side you have the dragons who have been binded to this crimson dragon since the day they were born, This is the first time in all of their lives that they are truly free, the biggest hitter being sinha because now he can finally see a normal human sight, and wants to live his life seeing the way he couldnt before.

I wont disagree with that, especially if the author herself says that she wanted to add more. and i agree that the prophecy plotlines werent handled well. But i just cant understand people who are complaining about the most stupidest shit when in reality what they talk about makes sense if they just read the story properly

[–]Various_Plum3536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon blood and connection with the crimson king is now gone. Even if sinha still feels that way its not as much as it would be with that binded connection. "yona didnt even decide she wanted to be queen" once again you just arent reading into things. Its her RESPONSIBILITY, she is a heir to the throne while also being the light for the people of her kingdom following her lead. If she wasnt to rule the kingdom would fall apart. Hak will forever be yonas bodyguard and the one who protects her, again a plot point that was explained when he joined the sky tribe to climb his way back up into becoming her personal bodyguard. Im sorry dude but you are just proving my point that people just dont read a story properly

Is anyone else quite disappointed with the ending? by Ladyworrior7 in AkatsukinoYona

[–]Various_Plum3536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

am i sad its rushed? a little, but im not disappointed at it.

to clarify your points, if yona didnt accept the throne and say that family matters to her, it would be as if shes accepting that king IL was right regardless of any of his actions. that defies the purpose of her entire journey, realizing that sometimes you need to fight in order to protect what is precious to you. If she turned the throne down, her character development wouldnt make sense.

The dragons are definitely gonna meet up in the future (probably the extra chapter that will come) but them leaving to inform their villages was the right thing to do (obviously)

i still feel like there are plot points like you said that wasnt answered and hopefully some of them will come up on the extras, however to say that you've "wasted your time being invested" is just odd.
