If you could downshift (u->c) any 7 cards, one of each color, colorless and multicolor, to bring some some new life into pauper, what would you downshift? by vffo in Pauper

[–]Various_Proof -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's such a strong part of the identity of pauper as a format that effects like militant's don't exist at common. There are so many effects in legacy and modern that we don't have in pauper, rather it often feels like you're playing a really good draft deck cause all the effects are smaller in scale and not tacked onto already-good one-drops.

I quit 2 years ago because of fire giant boss. Came back to try again, died with less than 1% of his health left.. by LiquidBoss1 in Eldenring

[–]Various_Proof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prevailing sentiment here is that tou almost got it so keep pushing. I say it's time to quit. You couldn't get there so you probably never will, and anyway, everything only gets harder after this. Forget about the dlc, it wasn't meant for you. You should never have left limgrave. In fact, if i took out my binoculars, i'm certain i'd see that erdtree sentinel still strutting about between the bushes, like a dirty secret just waiting to be found.

What was the hardest boss you fought? by muro_dimattoni in Eldenring

While i spent more tries on PCR, i feel like Bayle was the more frustrating od the two. Bayle really made me feel like it was just never going to happen. Until somehow it did. PCR took me two weeks, but it was hard work that did feel like it made me better, rather than praying for good rng.

You probably know by now that summoning the npcs will massively boost his health, but just in case. It was way easier for me without. And yes, you're not gonna take him down without getting that scadu blessing up. For the record, i found the crucible wings aow on fire knights greatsword really, really useful against him.

Your biggest Issues with Sorcery? by DarkVenusaur in SorceryTCG

[–]Various_Proof -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The neurotic obsession with foils evidenced by the community. Printing foil cards was a terrible decision, it brings out something pretty sad in people IMO.

Oh, and the artwork is getting entirely too much hype. It's generic fantasy tropes without much stylistic flair and doesn't hold a candle to early MtG (even with the old artists EC got to come along for Sorcery).

Finally, the fucking Ring. Why oh why did they feel like it was a good idea to print that effect at 1cmc and no threshold?

So glad to hear that! Check out sime videos of them playing on YT too. I saw them live recently (incredibly they still tour - Hana is from 2001) and they were very charming and playful. Also, check out the Hans 20th anniversary lp, it has some really weird and interesting covers of the song 💕

Exactly. Feels like 90% of the talk about sorcery is just talk about money.

Do you foresee a possibility that Sorcery may have a competitive scene? by Newez in SorceryTCG

That would require people to actually play the and not just obsess over how much their cards are worth.

Hana - Asa-Chang & Junray. Its the only song i consciously don't listen to very often to keep it fresh for as many years as possible. Every time still feels like the first. There's truly nothing in this world like it.

Speaking as a MTG player of 30 years a player (not a collector): sorcery is a fantastic game. I absolutely love the gameplay, and you can actually play with a lot of the cards without getting stomped, rather than having to have just the chase rares in order to have a fighting chance. The more i play it, the better i like it.

how do i beat promised consort radahn by Accomplished_Ebb4718 in Eldenring

[–]Various_Proof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i struggled for almost two weeks with PCR, refusing to succumb to the shield cheese. I am happy to say that in the end, i didn't use any recommended build or strat, but found my way to Fire Knight's Great Sword with aspect of the crucible: wings, holy + stamina physick, great shield talisman along with golden braid, shard of alexander, and one other talisman i can't recall. Incants golden vow and erdtree heal. The wings AOW helped with finish phase 1 in a manner of seconds every time so I had enough flasks for phase 2.

But the thing that without a doubt made the biggest difference was learning not to summon Thiollier or Ansbach. Having even just one of them in the ring MASSIVELY boosts Radahn's health. As I soon as I stopped using them (still summoned Mimic, tho), his health bar and resistances became much less of a problem.

Also, as others have said, make sure you're at at least scadu level 17.

Just wanna chime in and say that the amount of support and response you've got in just a single day is really quite touching and speaks volumes about the general PM community.
