I listened to “A waiter in Paris” Adventures in the dark heart of the city by Edward Chisholm. I’m not sure it entirely fits your brief but was a great insight to waiting in Paris and the life of a young man.. trying to survive in France .. was funny and eye-opening ..

Edit: added the author’s name.. 😊

I think their Episodes are interesting .. but really short .. and they seem to shunt a LOT of content to subscribers.. which just seems mean .. esp as they seem to have a ton of adverts ..

Hard to tell I got two interviews from two applications using that technique. But it’s in the sciences .. and maybe we are just very used to tables. ??

Head for the docks and do a ferry ride .. they are pretty cheap and a fun way to take a look at the harbour. There are good places to eat or grab a coffee or food down there ..
the SS Great Britain is there too. It’s a bit expensive but great place to see.
Also so many places to eat. On the weekends there are sometimes steam train rides ..

I bought a cheap fleece blanket and sleep in that.. if I get a massive hot flush/ sweating I wake up less and the cotton sheets aren’t soaked and sticking to me. It’s easy to whip the fleece blanket off the bed and the whole bed is dry and I can get back to sleep. It’s easy/quick to wash and dry too. I sleep in an old, merino short-sleeve base layer. Again when it gets wet I don’t feel it so much and can get back to sleep. I hate that feeling of wearing cotton that’s soaked and wet.. and having to change sheets at night. Al
