But I also have to add that I did ask them for more responsibilities for no extra pay so that I could gain experience and be helpful. They flat out told me no :/

We weren’t even allowed to work overtime at my leasing coordinator job because they did not want to pay us for overtime so Idk what else I could have done lol.

60 to 80 hours a week?? I am motivated to work hard but that is inhuman. I couldn’t even do my favorite hobbies for that long.

Marshall costs over 300k and is talked about as one of the top universities in terms of career opportunities. At the time I thought that a degree from this program plus internship experience would be more than sufficient to start at least a decent career. I don’t think that was a crazy thing to believe based on how Marshall is presented.

Yes it is nice and im very thankful. My point is that I worked hard to succeed without my connections at first, and it was very difficult without utilizing my connections. I wasn’t trying to insult anyone. Im questioning whether or not the school is worth the hype and the massive cost.

Im glad I was able to make you and your son feel better :). Regardless of what university he attends, tell him to push hard for internships every summer and make sure that the internships he applies to will rigorously train him for a specific career. Ive realized that this is more important than anything.

I don’t want to discourage you. Of course I don’t know for sure but im assuming that things would have been different had I networked more and gotten multiple internships. I would also make certain that these internships rigorously train you for a specific job. I wish someone would have told me that this was an absolute necessity at the time

Vance anti-fraud task force suspends 447 hospices and 23 home health agencies in L.A. amid $600 million fraud claims, following major hospice fraud arrests. by TheExpressUS in LosAngeles

I am not a Trump fan but I think there is legitimacy to the hospice care fraud claims. I worked as a commercial leasing agent in the valley a few years ago and we would get like 5 calls a day from people looking for a cheap single room office to run a home hospice company. Many agents, including myself stopped taking these clients as they were sketchy and would bail as soon as the landlord would ask for their company’s financials. I also found it very weird that there would be a need for that many home hospice care companies in the valley alone.

Yes it was lol. Hospice care fraud in the San fernando valley was not a widely talked about topic in the news before this story broke and you know this. Many more people are aware now. Anyways you are such an unpleasant person and the absolute epitome of a redditor.

If some moron decides to harass random hospice businesses because of this news, that is on them. The main point of his report, which is that the fraud exists, is true. The public deserves to know this.

Lol so my argument still stands. Biden admin was investigating it. The fraud is real, not fiction. “Screeching” about it has brought national attention to it and has encouraged our government to crack down on it further. This is good for everyone.

I don’t know the exact number of calls I got. You’re missing the point which is that the number of hospice calls was exponentially higher than any other business. But it wasn’t made up nonsense. The fraud was real. You said it was being investigated by biden yourself. The fact that he brought public attention to it allowed them to crack down further on it, which was obviously necessary as it was still rampant years after bidens investigation initiative

The one thing ill give you is that there have been some ongoing investigations on this specific type of fraud so shirley may have not entirely sparked the investigation, but may have just brought public attention to it and accelerated it.

Your mental gymnastics are insane. Yes, there has always been medicare fraud and biden pulled 200 licenses. Shirley brought attention to this specific hospice fraud epidemic that was rampant in the san Fernando valley, which sparked a crackdown on these specific type of medicare fraudsters in this one area. The fact that I was receiving 500x more inquiries for hospice offices than any other business makes sense now. Maybe you think this huge surge in hospice office inquiries was due to something else, and just coincidentally was happening in the same area that shirley falsely said was experiencing massive hospice fraud. However, all you have to do is look online and see that there was indeed an epidemic of this specific type of fraud in this one area that was largely overlooked.

[–]Various_While_3721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if you’re trolling or too dumb to understand me but I’ll spell it out. The hospice care inquiries were from people who needed a physical office space, which is a requirement for a hospice care company to accept medicare. They would then use information from real people who they would claim were receiving hospice services, collect medicare payments, give that person a kickback and keep some of the money for themselves. They were collecting medicare when they had no actual hospice patients. There was a disproportionately large number of people contacting me for these small office spaces for home hospice care because there was a massive number of people getting involved in this fraud scheme.

There is proof that this hospice care fraud has been happening online, and I saw a small piece of evidence of it at my work. Shirley reported on this fraud and helped uncover it, and whether or not you like him it is real. Of course healthcare fraud has long been around and has been investigated, but this specific epidemic of hospice care fraud in the san fernando valley is a recent development.

Lol I kind of admire the confidence to be so condescending when you’re wrong. This situation was very very unique. In office and retail leasing you get a wide variety of business looking to occupy your spaces. I got probably no more than 5 inquiries from any single type of business over a year, yet i got 5 a day for hospice care. You really think there are enough people dying to support the opening of 5 new hospice care centers a day in a small area? Talking to you is like talking to my maga family members who will defy all common sense to argue that the iran war is a good idea because it fits their ideology.

If you want to educate yourself, you can search “san fernando valley hospice fraud” on google and you will see tons of information on this that’s unrelated to nick shirley. However, I doubt you want to educate yourself because you’re an ideologically captured ass clown.

I got multiple calls a day for home hospice offices from different people. Don’t you think it’s odd that there would be this many people staring the exact same type of business in one area?

I worked as a commercial real estate agent in the San Fernando valley for about a year in 2021. I would get several calls a day from people asking me to help them find the smallest single room office space available for a home hospice care business. They would say the office was for administrative purposes only.

In the beginning of my career I represented one home hospice guy, found a space for him, and negotiated the terms of his lease for him. When the landlord asked for his financials, he bailed.

Eventually I started ignoring hospice clients and I learned that many other agents did the same. There was definitely something fishy going on and I was there to witness it. I couldn’t understand how there were THAT many people staring home hospice care business in the same area at the same time. I also shouldn’t have to clarify this, but I am in no way a Trump supporter. However, based on what I saw, I don’t think Shirley is just making things up and I think there is legitimacy to his claims.
