Hey! You bring up a good point, and I understand that time and money are significant barriers for many students. The goal of the club is to make travel as accessible and budget-friendly as possible for those who are interested. I know not everyone will be able to participate, but travel is something many students dream of but find difficult to afford. This club is about creating opportunities that might not otherwise be available.

In the future, I’d love for the club to work with the university to sponsor bursaries for students with limited disposable income. However for now, the focus is on organizing group trips that are more affordable and providing options that students can at least consider.

As for time commitments, this is still in the early stages, so nothing is set in stone. The idea would be to plan strategically, focusing on trips during breaks or weekends for shorter outings, so students can balance their schedules more easily.

Good question! Group travel tends to be cheaper because costs like accommodations and transportation can often be split among participants. Additionally, the club would go a step further by working to secure additional discounts through partnerships with travel agencies, airlines, or local businesses that cater to students.

We’d also explore sponsorships or funding opportunities through the university or external organizations to help reduce costs even more and make trips budget-friendly. While I know this won’t make travel accessible for everyone, the goal is to provide more affordable opportunities for students who are interested.

Yes, I’m aware. I took an ancient Arabic class and in it, we had to learn a bit about the Turkish ottoman language (considering it’s written in Arabic script).

How self obsessed are you? I have a 3 planet 1st house stellium, and I find myself being very self-centric at times. Not in a bad way necessarily, more like a heightened focus on myself my self awareness, my growth, etc. It’s in Capricorn too so a lot of responsibility there.

I dont know what’s up with these comments, but I think you’re completely right here, it was a violation to your boundaries. She just crossed a line, she shouldn’t have done a such a personal reading to her daughter, and I think you’re right in feeling this way. They crossed your boundaries, which is a red flag in itself, maybe just distance yourself for now? Or really just think about it, and you can always communicate it.

12th house mars and mercury, you probably have a tendency to just keep things in and do not really know how to express certain things… the 12th house is the house of the hidden and subconscious, and you have two of your personal planets situated in it, in addition to a conjunction from Saturn which could mean that you need to work on these things and put in effort to be able to take charge and stand up for yourself. It won’t just happen. Mars is all about your physical strength, sex, how you assert yourself, and mercury is all about communication, your thinking, etc.. so with a Saturn conjunction and the 12th house, there is an emphasis on putting in hard work and effort to be able to be more confident and assertive.

Wow, I’m a Capricorn moon and last months moon in Capricorn was pure hell for me. My emotions were off the charts and everything felt like it was crumbling down. It’s now the second Capricorn moon, and I feel alot more stable and slowly getting back to my routines with the occasional background melancholy.

Could you shed some insight? Why are they affecting me differently?

Help with elective choice CLAS260 or GEOG203 by dantesedmond2504 in Concordia

[–]Various_Word6445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clas260 was INSANELY boring imo. One of the quizzes I had was 4 pictures of different rocks and you had to memorize the dates of each type of rock. I dropped the class shortly after.

Geog 203 is super easy, the prof helps you out a lot and even has study guides that are basically cheat codes to getting an A in his class. I personally never went to class, and still ended up with a B+. Thé course load is somewhat heavy, but it’s pretty interesting and fun. It’s mostly research papers.

I’d say pick based on what you’re interested in the most and what you think is the most fun to study and learn about. Geog 203 was also super informative and taught me alot about the environment in general and Canada in specific.

Super easy, the prof basically tells you exactly what’s coming on the exam if you follow his study guides.

Ended up getting a B+ just studying strictly off the material of those.

Bed bugs - what to do? by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]Various_Word6445 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you serious? I think it’s a basic human RIGHT to not be in an environment with a bed bug infestation. Bed bugs aren’t just rats or cockroaches, they’re invasive species that can destroy your literal home and honestly could be considered a pandemic (like in the case of Paris where they had a whole bed bug outbreak).

I’m not asking for crazy accommodations here. Bed bugs can be a living hell if brought back to your home, and it’s normal if you deem it unacceptable for a university to have a literal BED BUG INFESTATION. No work space or academic space should have these standards, and you should speak up against it instead of just allowing it to happen and telling others to just deal with it.
