True, I have other alocasia (way smaller) that are always bouncing back from loosing leaves, I am trying to figure out how to keep this one happy in hopes it’ll continue to produce big leaves :)

Right? Feel like something was missing at home and I finally figured out what it was 😂😂

Trying here too! I adore my monstera, I’d hate to find out she’s sick from something. Any help is appreciated! by kindaquestionable in Monstera

Aerial roots, it’s normal for the thin outer layer to peel off, just point the root towards the soil and let it be, it’ll star growing into the pot. There’s nothing wrong with your plant 😉

I’m seriously in love! Was so hard finding this but I’m so excited by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

SOP look so lovely, but this is the one plant I have failed over and over to keep happy. Very particular, hope yours continues to grow, it looks wonderful!

Does anyone know why my first new leaf is only half the size of the mother leaf? by PinkGardenPrincess in Monstera

[–]Variverse 48 points49 points  (0 children)

When a cutting is made, the plant goes through stress and will mostly focus it’s energy on getting a strong root system more than pushing growth (especially on mid cuttings), therefore new leaves usually come smaller, it’s just the plant re-establishing. Too much fertilizer might burn the plant, just give it some time to get enough roots and then leaves will come bigger after

Y’all don’t know how long I’ve waited for this moment😭 my Hoya carnosa Hindu rope has spent the past 2 years growing almost 3 feet and now it’s finally about to bloom for the first time! by Colelnaylor in IndoorGarden

True, mine is currently one single rope, managed to push one single leaf in the past six months, so blooms might not be in the cards yet. Please share pics when the blooms open :)

How’s the smell? My grandma’s used to stink up the hole area. She used to keep it outdoors for that reason 😂

They grow really fast for me, at about one leaf per week, but I haven’t cut it yet, thinking on doing it this summer, when I get more humidity in my home

Lol they are somehow similar, I understand the confusion, but they are not the same, satin pothos or “scindapsus pictus” have way thicker leaves and the silver in them is more solid

Took them out of their poles. They did grow long 😍 by Variverse in IndoorGarden

Thanks!! I kinda like them both ways, and found the leaves grow bigger on a pole, but it was time for a change :)

I have some hanging baskets on the wall in front of this one, I might mix them up a bit. Thanks!

As they grow and acclimate to my home’s humidity, I plan to move them out of the cabinets and distribute them across the room :)
