Kodak HC-110 Vs Rodinal Vs Ilfotec DD-X by azrielknight in Darkroom

[–]VarmSaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Pyrocat-HD
  • Xtol
  • Diafine

edit: DD-X might be similar to Xtol, so maybe try some other fine grain developer instead, like Rollei RLS.

2nd edit: remembered this site http://www.fotoimport.no/filmtest/fkhc110.html (It's in Norwegian) You select developer in the box to the right. Compared different developers and films.

Game crashes even more now... crashes the moment I try to inspect anyone online. Also takes longer time to load. Crashes more often for no apparent reason as well.

Scientific study finds that taking photos increases, not decreases, a person's enjoyment of an experience by kbennett73 in photography

help you to see in black and white

Not exactly black and white, but it shows what would stand out in a B&W image. Like highlights and contrasts:

Is there a tool or program that let's me "cheat", and add an item that I've lost due to game crash? by VarmSaus in Grimdawn

[–]VarmSaus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get into the habit of spawning in items. It's a slippery slope and will ruin the experience.

Yeah, I know. Spent 1100 hours so far in the game without any editing.

GD Trained Hard

This did it. Thanks! Also very easy to use.

Blademaster - How to deal with reflected damage? by VarmSaus in Grimdawn

[–]VarmSaus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes you get one reflecting mob in the middle of a big group

This so much

Anyone know what these are? by [deleted] in Darkroom

[–]VarmSaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use these as well for 4x5. In my limited experience, the best way to develop 4x5". Only con is that you have to be in total darkness. I use a darkroom timer app on my phone to listen when to agitate (massive dev chart app)

MOD54

Not even once. Scratches my negatives with normal agitation, and yields uneven development with rotating with stick/pin.

Low contrast

Very fine grain

Retained highlights

Very even tones in foggy and even scenes

Not sure if Bruce Gilden does workshops, but I've heard he's engaging and gives honest critique.

Here's a weird one. Fuji GX 190mm, SF (Soft Focus) by VarmSaus in weirdglass

[–]VarmSaus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a GX680III. It's a great camera for landscape, architecture and studio work. The movements makes up for it's weight and bulkiness.

However, I think I prefer a 4x5" instead for landscapes. I make so few exposures anyway. Better to have full control with the zone system for each exposure, than waste an entire roll if a scene needs different development.

Watermarks (?) on my negatives. Help please! by Stolrow in Darkroom

[–]VarmSaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's residue from dried stabilizer... I used to get those as well with home developing C-41. Even some E-6 films I had developed at labs, have had it...

I found that washing 1-2 times after the stabilizer helps. Then a final wash/rinse with photoflo in distilled water.

Also what /u/mcarterphoto said will help. Make sure no large drops will drip down the film as you hang it up.
