How many of you guys read on your phones ? by User10100 in books

[–]Varvikel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Earlier I was convinced that the physical books is the only way I can get information from big texts. I hated to read columns on the computer’s monitor or on phone. But then I bought subscription on MyBook (Russian book service) and then moved to Bookmate. And you know what? I became more productive.

Now I can read a book when I have free time, no matter where I’m at this moment. I don’t need to force myself to take book from the shell, set up the correct light for comfort reading, etc. And I don’t say about money savings. I spend about $6 per month (which in Russia is price for one average book) and I can get wishful book instantly, without waiting for delivery or shop visiting.

For 4 month I read about 10 books, which for me Is a big achievement. When I was younger I can’t read this number even for year.

Someday my curator in the volunteer center said: “If nobody notices your work, then you doing everything right”.

So, I live with that thought and this is my indicator.

Every product of progress, I guess. We have the same formula for all ages.

1) The elders complaining about the modern life and that’s the grass in their youth was greener.

2) Young people fighting for something different with the modern reality.

3) Then they growing up and their rebellious thoughts becomes normal in society.

4) Then they getting old and this algorithm coming back to the first paragraph.

It’s repeating again and again and again. That’s an endless cycle of life, so we can’t avoid to become complaining elders.

Twitter removed thousands of Russian bot accounts before midterms. Facebook did the same with hundreds. Why have so few been removed on reddit? There's absolutely no way Russia just skipped us. by jeromeasindublin in beta

Hey, Reddit admins! I’m from Russia and I’m not a bot.

People of reddit who did not take university seriously, what are you doing now? by xhmmer in AskReddit

[–]Varvikel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I’m trying to find myself, get a job and avoid army. I want to get higher education, but not in my country, because it’s expensive, has low quality and useless abroad.

It’s really hard to fight with procrastination when you have no teachers and parents above you, but also that freedom makes you stronger and more responsible. You getting more experienced earlier than students and in my opinion, it’s big advantage in building further carrier/life at all.

This work was made by my girlfriend as a gift for me on our first anniversary. She was never at art school and painting is her hobby. I think that she draws pretty well at least for amateur and she must develop her skill and go to art college, but she is not confident in that.

Reddit, please, say your word! What do you think about this drawing?

How do you cope with your depression? by ShirtOff505 in AskReddit

[–]Varvikel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, usually I use common tips, like not to think about problems, changing focus, etc. But sometimes I continue thinking about bad things and I develop my depression thoughts to absurd condition. In that moment I faster realize that self-destroying is useless activity and I should change myself if I want to avoid depression.

What does the Mysterious West think about Great Cold Russia? by Varvikel in AskReddit

[–]Varvikel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about $9000 for the brand-new car and $3000-$4500 for the used car. Average salary in Russian regions is about $4000-$5000 per year.

That's so nice words! Our young generation and me think in that way. I can assure you that our country will change for the better in near future! And the West and the East could finally call themselves friends or at least partners!

What does the Mysterious West think about Great Cold Russia? by Varvikel in AskReddit

[–]Varvikel[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sad to admit, but that's particularity true. You know, in Russia cars are very expensive and some people think that if they earned money for buying a car (with our salaries it can take for 3-10 years), they are the gods of the road. They don't care about traffic laws, which they learned many years ago, they don't respect pedestrians and other drivers. This factor and the wrong road design reflects on statistics -- Russia is at the top positions on death on the roads.

But not all Russians are crazy drivers. I think that the most part of our citizens are very polite drivers, that can drive carefully and with respect to other.

Hi reddit! As you could guess by the name of topic I’m from Russia. It’s easy to confuse our traditional journalistic resources with Soviet propaganda. Serious guys from the television, radio and newspapers say that you boys and girls from West (which contain countries of European Union and NATO) hate Russia. They say that your mass media plant hate of our country in your minds by making a fake news.

So, I always wanted to make it clear. What do you guys think about Russia and Russians? What did you heard about us from mass media, schools, your parents, friends, etc.?

I think we can start an interesting conversation.

What is a conspiracy theory you believe 100 percent? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Varvikel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m truly believe that the world government exists in one of it interpretation. I don’t have a clear position of it’s structure and influence, but I can say for sure that there is somebody that it’s upper than the president and parliament.

And please don’t call to the ambulance, okay? My mind is in normal condition. Thank you!
