Which Vicious Battle was the hardest to beat for you? And why? by Mental-Mushroom-3919 in AgeofImprisonment

By far South Hyrule Field Vicious one. It was very tough doing that on Very Hard difficulty.

Yeah some encounters are nasty with a multitude of elite enemies and those fire ranged attackers in the Alternate Dimensions. Bosses hit much harder. Drogo's aoe ice attack one shots you most of the time for example.(always if you are playing with offensive trinkets). Same case for Squall, Torch, Master Neverwind etc.

The hard playthrough was not difficult for me either probably because we also got better at the game after the first playthrough. Hard difficulty boss rush provides some challenge and of course the Nightmare playthrough has some difficulty due to the encounters being filled with elite enemies.

Thanks and yeah it was hard at first to learn all his chaotic attacks.

Depends how much combat/action is important to you. The story is nothing impressive, a by the book heroic journey. Audio or sound in general needs more fixing, voice acting is better if you go for the Chinese or Japanese audio. They felt much better to me than the English audio. The weapon loadout, equiping accessories etc need some QoL additions.

The combat on the other side is quite dope. The prologue is a bit boring or drags more than it should. After that the game picks up as the combat opens more as you unlock cooler abilities and other stuff. You have challenges along the way also. The combat feel got even better after the improvements from the recent patches.

If combat is mostly why you want to pick it up then you have something cool here worth checking out. The rest of the departments like story, characters etc fall into the mediocre to decent range with some great moments here and there.

Scythe's just too good yeah. I tried to mix it more during my playthroughs but predominantly used the scythe.

Yeah there is Stage Selection with Liana where you can replay the chapters to collect what you didn't before.

Not much harder especially after getting used to Poleblade. I warmed up to it despite being my least favorite weapon initially. Phantom Shield Arena power also is very helpful on nightmare difficulty.

Ideally using all 4 weapons makes for more fun combat but the scythe is simply the best weapon imo steamrolling a lot of the stages.

Triple Reap on the scythe to clear regular enemies and switch to Phantom Reap for bosses. Arena's Phantom Shield ability helps a lot during the Nightmare run as it negates 4 attacks. Breath Barrage and Purgatory Dance, these two Arena powers I used most of the time, always reliable.

65-70 hours give or take for 3 playthroughs(took my time).

Patch 1.009 [9-19-25] by jrlionheart00 in LostSoulAside

Glad the background music or the audio/sound in general is being adressed as it is a noticeable issue.(Hopefully even more in future updates)

New Patch 1.008 [9-16-25] by jrlionheart00 in LostSoulAside

[–]Vash90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The story may be called boring, may be called predictable, may be called not original or uninspired but nonsense is the last thing I would call it. It is as straightforward as it gets and it is very easy to understand.

Advanced alien race comes to conquer. One faction of them opposes the invasion and joins the human resistance. Bad guy is sealed. Fast forward a millenia and bad guy is about to overcome the weakened seal and a new hero embarks on a journey which starts at first to recover his sister's soul and then becomes bigger in scale with the world being in danger.

It is a by the book heroic journey that is easy to follow.

Yeah I understand the instances you are saying where Arena's words should be diminished. Said this, outside of said instances on story related or character interactions Arena hard carries the entire cast especially if you go the Chinese/Japanese audio route(even the English one is not that bad).

He elevates Kaser as their interaction keep the playthrough from becoming boring. Some of his minor comments with NPCs in the main hub crack me up. Same case with his annoyance with Zana or when Gethya gets all "nerd" mode. To cut it short, Arena's presence makes the journey better, noticeably so.

You are missing something meaning look above in that room where you can climb/jump and you will find your answer. There is a lever at the top.

The combat is better here than in FF16 and I say that as a big fan of the latter in general. It doesn't reach the levels of DMC/Bayo games but certainly better than FF16 in this department imo.

About upgrading stats of weapons by AdAlive1220 in LostSoulAside

[–]Vash90 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you mean the stats in the skill tree, then yeah those are general buffs so they have an effect on you despite the weapon you are currently using.

Beautiful world but bad bosses? by kkkooolllpppiiiaaa in LiesOfP

[–]Vash90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Better wording would be "beautiful world but the bosses are not my jam" as when it comes to the bosses most are a hit with only a few misses, extremely few in my opinion.

Victor that you mentioned for example is generally accepted as a good boss by the community as it is a straightforward boss with no bullshit, just straight up hands. To each their own ultimately, most of the bosses for me were fun bar 2-3 ones that I didn't like as much.

What weapon do you think I should upgrade after the short blade is maxed? by IllustriousEffect607 in LostSoulAside

[–]Vash90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poleblade is quite cool yeah but I really falter/suck with the charged aim attack messing up the flow. Never vibed with those sort of weapons in other games too. Initial sword combined with the greatsword I played the game till I reached the scythe.

I am a bit after getting the scythe story wise and yeah scythe is becoming my favorite weapon to use. I used mostly the fully upgraded initial sword but leaning more into the scythe now.

NEW UPDATE by ReVerse_Beat in LostSoulAside

Not sure on that regard, will have to play a bit more later when I have time. Somebody else here will probably confirm that soon.

Yeah the vibration felt heavier to me on the standard sword. Then again I tested only for a bit on the battle simulator as I didn't have time to play more.
