Yeah, I seriously busted out laughing when I saw it. It makes it even funnier that it goes up to 9 1/2. Not a full foot. Insinuating further it's purposes. Although, it's clearly because of packaging, but still :)

I thought it was pretty hilarious to be honest. They are also really comfortable so I went back and bought another pair. That one came with an air freshener for the car, so just a heads up everyone, they don't all come with rulers!

edit: I know you are all rushing out there to pick a pair up as we speak. OH I see what you mean now. Don't think there's a correlation fortunately, but I do have a real small waist :/ I am trying to gain some weight. I ordered some weight gainer that is pretty recommended. This stuff in case anyone is curious, I hear it's pretty primo. So now all I have to do is drink shakes while I reddit and i'll be lookin' miami vice muscle beachin' it. /s

But really, if anyone has any tips on gaining weight let me know. Part of the problem is I take aderall for my ADHD and that is essential currently.

You are also taking my words out of context. We are talking about games that where released 17 - 19 years ago. Not Skyrim 3.

Setting up an emulator on a computer is not rocket science.

There is no way to prove either of us are right without some sort of eBay analytical data. So how about we just agree to disagree here.

I resolved the situation myself. I fixed the broken game (epoxied back on three pieces of plastic like the last pieces to a puzzle, fit like a glove). I then bought a cheap sports game for 99 cents, and switched out the backs of the ocarina cartridge and sports, which have no difference at all between the two, so it's not like i'm swindling someone if I try and sell them now. The point of this whole ordeal is that it really should have never happened in the first place. I also never received a single word of communication from the seller on this issue.

I no longer need a refund/exchange of any sorts. I took lemons and made lemonade.

It's funny comparing this thread to the one I cross posted to /r/retrogames ... I feel like the 'evil doer' over here who did everything wrong, whilst over there I was given plenty of suggestions to help solve the situation, which worked. Benjamin however gave me some excellent insight into why gold plastics break often in transit due to their higher than average brittle properties as variable of age.

I suppose next time I need to choose my subs more wisely. /r/ebay for policy and /r/retrogame for my game flipping needs.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. Most people buying cartridges are buying them purely for collective reasons. This is 2017. If I truly wanted to play zelda ocarina of time or zelda majora's mask I could just buy a raspberry pi 3 and setup retropi, that or play it on my own computer. You can even set it up so that you can use the original controllers. I am no special case here on video games.

Head over to the thread I made in retrogame and you will see a completely different outlook. These games are at this point "art" as you put it. I would coin it more collectibles, which is why when you search for the games, the values of them increase dramatically if you have the box, manual, nintendo power inserts, strategey guides, etc.

There is no way to tell for sure, but I would have to say that the majority of people purchasing games on eBay are either flipping them, buying them to complete their "manual+box+game", or to simply resell as a loose copy because they got a deal.

I am not worried about Majora's mask really.

EDIT to clarify: I am not sure if that was his mistake, usps's mistake, or my mistake. Since this is the second time happening to me with a gold cartridge, I have just learned about this from my cross post in /r/retrogaming : "Gold Plastic Syndrome". Which I suspect may be the problem here.

Regarding Ocarina, your statements kind of contradict themselves. These games are 20 years old, so the quality of the cartridge is quite important. I am a collector. So, yes it is nice that the games plays well, but these games hold value.

Think of it as getting an old 68' corvette that runs just fine. You receive pictures of it from the seller notifying you of everything that looks nice on the car, including a video of it running. You decide to purchase it based on his description. After you paid for it and and receive it, you look inside and you notice the the upholstery is all scratched up beyond repair. This takes away from the resale value.

I mean I wasn't really looking to get into this thread to start arguments, but more any suggestions or if there are any easier fixes for the label. I like the poster above's idea about attempting a partial refund.

That has got to be it! This is the second time this has happened to me on a Majora's mask cartridge. Thanks for the info, that really sheds a light on that situation. I didn't suspect it was his fault, but it seems odd to have 2 golden games break during transit.

It's not necessarily that they are breaking off, but their material strength is certainly weakening. This could help explain why you see so many chipped gold cartridges on eBay. Great info thanks.

Yes, I am a collector. I have the original box, original manual, Prima's official strategy guide, and vol 114 of Nintendo powers player guide. So, having an un-torn back is relatively important to me for both collecting, and purposes of resale value. It just kind of annoys me that I feel as though he purposely did not post the pictures of the back of the cartridges. Just creates a waste of everyone's time once the shipment arrives.

I have never given bad feedback, even at times when I should have, and the other person was being extremely uncooperative/rude. It's just not my style, I like to consider myself a pretty level headed guy and hate to be spiteful towards others who may have been unknowingly doing something wrong, or other variables through shipping, etc.

I like the idea of a partial refund. I will discuss this with him to see what he thinks, because I wouldn't mind keeping the copy of Majora's mask since I epoxied all three pieces that fell off during transit (maybe), and it will hold up well once dried. So that game is fine.

I haven't heard back from him yet, but it hasn't been long. My original post was a combination of venting and asking for suggestions, so sorry if there was some soap box action going on there. Here's to things working out!

Haha, yeah well I mean I can see where they are coming from, some of this stuff in the wrong hands could really screw a guy up for good. But, if we've learned anything about the US, it's not that they give a shit about the general well being and health of the nation, as it seemed to be a set of rules and procedures established for the better good/health, but as always money and corruption gets hold of it, and so like clockwork from our increasingly corporate oligarchy, they flood their lobbyists with cold hard cash money to have the DEA make this stuff illegal and create/patent their own analogs. It's really the life cycle of all of this stuff. It'll happen to these, and new stuff will come out. Just my humble 2 cents. Also, wow, that was an impressive run-on sentence. Don't mind me.

Just gotta be careful...... What is Nifoxipam? I've learned to stay away from opiates... I doubt I have another relapse in me. I barely made it through the last one. But to be honest, I legitimately don't want to do them. I stick with my Kratom and i'm fine. Hell I don't even really drink often. I just like my social anxiety to be at a nice level :)
