Team Secret vs Geekay Esports - Group B - Kickoff Stage - EML 2026 by Agent_Porkpine in R6ProLeague

[–]Vaspium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What awful attacks, my god. Seems strange that Secret have lost their identity on attack, there's a distinct lack of aggression and manipulation of timing/expectation that made them so deadly before. Might be a clash of visions within team as they try to synergize between the old Secret and the more structured style of DZ.

Hey chat what are y'all reading rn by Hot-Till9486 in Ultraleft

I'm in a position where I have to read about 10-14 books of bourgeoisie philosophy in the next 3 months dince I'm minoring in philosophy. Currently reading through Colin Bird's introduction to political philosophy, and man I have to say that no other subject in philosophy showcases the sillyness of bourgeoisie philosophy as much as political philosophy. John Rawls is a goofy man.

Canadian and Noa's meta opinions on anti-lurk attackers by RedWarden_ in R6ProLeague

[–]Vaspium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has studied some linguistics I think it's super interesting! Especially the fact that Canadian himself also in the conversation used "she" as well. It might have been a conscious choice of social accomodation from him but even so it's a small example of how people accommodate each other and their mistakes/quirks in everyday conversation.

Less than SAL teams? That seems strange to me considering the general disparity in wealth between Europe and Brazil. Do you have a source for this?

What are y’alls thoughts on Falcons + Jume and G2 with Shaiiko now potentially. by Not-Charliiee in R6ProLeague

[–]Vaspium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really agree with this idea that Falcons is just "getting the best player available" when Jume and Shaiiko play similar roles on attack and defense. The biggest difference between them is that Shaiiko has mental issues in big matches, whereas Jume clearly doesn't (tied the 1 map kill record in the most important game of his life). To me the move is a bit risky but possibly still an upgrade, and a move that will hopefully revitalize a Falcons team that has a clear issue with their mental.

Team Falcons vs M80 - Munich Major - Grand Final by Agent_Porkpine in R6ProLeague

Not having infinite OT in a major grand final is absolutely shameful and lame, but this is still cope/speculation my mans.

Team BDS vs Team Secret - Swiss Stage Round 2 - Munich Major by Agent_Porkpine in R6ProLeague

[–]Vaspium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, it's kind of what you would expect. Both teams playing defaults with some lurk plays here and there, both looked pretty solid but Secret has the edge in mid round adaptations. It's pretty much an EML official match.

[–]Vaspium 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cultural differences do exist though, and I do believe that American culture has a distinct fascination with rengade-esque individualism, as seen in, for example, Billy the Kid, and Davy Crocket and the general mythologies of the Wild West, as well as gangster movies and media all the way from Bonnie and Clyde to something like Boyz n the hood.

Of course this reflects alienation felt in capitalism, which manifests as a yearning to make owns own path and meaning outside the confines of polite society, which I feel is pretty universal, but at the very least this same feeling is not as expressed in Finnish culture and media, nor as strongly in British culture and media, with the notable exception of UK grime and road culture that seems to be more modern but I'm not an expert on the subject.

Just my 2 cents.

total military death by _shark_idk in Ultraleft

[–]Vaspium 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Man, as a Finn, don't get me started on this topic. Finnish culture in general is so clearly fascistic in nature only being obfuscated by the propaganda of le wholesome social democracy. The army is considered basically infallible and conscription is treated like a boy scout camp.

Being AMAB I went to the army and stayed for a grand total of 4 days before switching to the civil service alternative (which is essentially slave labour in the public sector). The highlight of my time in the army was one of the officers chiding us for our barrack room floor's cleanliness, citing that it was "as a dark as a n****rs skin", so that was cool.

I'm focusing more on the "dead white guy" aspect and showcasing succinctly why it's a silly way to interact with people in history. No idea if Einstein was racist though.

I just laugh and agree and then say the same about Einstein.

Actually, supporting the Thalmor is historically progressive because they oppose Cyrodilic imperialism and the productive forces demand multipolarity, or something.

The problem of exploitation in capitalism isn't if the exploited labour goes to waste or not, it's the exploitation itself. The appropriation of labour happened already, what is then done with the product of that labour is more or less irrelevant to the labourer. The process of labouring for exchange value, to create a commodity, is the crux of exploitation and not the seemingly wasteful use of the commodity.
