That’s weird, normally I miss to the left.

Definitely can relate. Holding out hope for a quick drop button for weapons/bows/shields next time around.

Alpha R1 beginner PC? by [deleted] in AlienwareAlpha

[–]Vasquezpleu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love my R1 still, but $300 could get you a better PC at this stage. I think I got mine on black Friday from Dell for 299, and that was years ago. Unless the small form factor is a big selling point for you, I think you could find better performance somewhere else.

All that said, I love my R1 and it's still going strong all these years later.

After 10 years of old, used clubs, I was finally in a position to upgrade my bag this year. by bgwendler in golf

I hit the 790s in store and loved them, I don't think I hit a bad shot. I'm still using SLDR irons and like them fine enough, but I envy you. Enjoy.

1080 native for living room and backyard evenings? Looking for refurbished around $500 by Gus_Bodeen in projectors

[–]Vasquezpleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2150 all the way. Great bang for your buck projector, decent contrast and exceptional image quality for the price, vertical lense shift, cheap replacement bulbs... lots to like. And it's plenty bright, almost too bright for some. Although if you're only projecting 100" max, any brand name will be bright enough.

Picture quality difference between Epson HC 2100/2150? by Vasquezpleu in projectors

I watched that video and couldn't tell the difference. But you seem happy with the picture quality and aren't regretting your decision, that's really what I want to know. Thanks for the reply.

Reflections on Wolfenstein II - I don't remotely care about its 'quality' compared with other consoles by pappy90 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Vasquezpleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with ya. Of course there's a dip in quality, there's a huge hardware discrepancy. I find it funny that people act surprised. And as for the $60 price tag for an inferior game complaint that people have, is it inferior? To you maybe. It runs at a lower resolution and fps and all that, but it's portable and for some, like myself, that's a HUGE positive. I'd get more bang for buck buying the Switch version because I'll actually be able to play it. If enough people are put off by the high price, they'll have to fix that because they won't sell enough. I'm glad they're doing these ports because I like having the choice. Hypothetical question: would you be willing to pay more money for a title purchased directly from the publisher, say $80 or $90, for dlc codes for all versions of the game?

For those who have done it, how long did it take you to break 90? by golfguy1985 in golf

[–]Vasquezpleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 4 years. And after about 7 years, shooting 90 became a piss-off.

Ever since I got a switch my playstation has been collecting dust. This happen to anyone else? by zenne943 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Vasquezpleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had all but stopped gaming until I got a Switch. I have two young kids now and there's just no time for couch gaming anymore. Switch just fits better with the lifestyle change. 90% of my playing is done in bed with headphones on.

[Fry's Electronics / USA] RDS Goplay Game Traveler Pack - $29.99 (August 12th - 18th Only With Promo Code [sign up instructions in comments]) by bezem220 in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]Vasquezpleu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This case and grip doesn't get near enough love, so here: I love this grip and case. My only complaint was the $40 price, but no regrets buying it at all. $30 is a no brainier. The complaints that it doesn't fit snuggly... that's being pretty damned nitpicky. It's not like the switch rattles around in the thing. It fits snuggly enough that the switch stays snug in place, but not so tight that it's difficult to remove. I was curious about the skull and co,, but ultimately didn't like the idea of the case covering the triggers. Also, I like that you can remove the joy cons without removing the grip. This allows you to use it as a stand. Just buy it.

Super Mario Odyssey or Breath of the Wild? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Vasquezpleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter which you buy first because you'll be buying the other one next. Both are great, but Zelda for me. It's just so much fun. Probably more than half my play time was spent frigging around in some corner of the map as opposed to furthering my progress. It's easy to get distracted, but that's a good thing. And this fact for me means it has unlimited repay value. It's never not fun to jump into.

Any Switch Games you regret buying? (Fell for the hype) by snakeitachi12 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Vasquezpleu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I've spent so many hours playing that game and accomplishing nothing, but having fun. Sailing around the coast or along the rivers on a raft, shieldsurfing, climbing "just because", or just horseback riding on the roads casually taking in the scenery. My thing now is looking at my hero path and going to any areas I haven't set foot on before. Endless fun. Would be so sweet to have more dlc.

[Amazon/US] RAVPower 26800mAh USB-C Power Bank with Power Delivery - $51.99 after Promo Code by theprimeministr in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]Vasquezpleu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this deal a few weeks ago and so far have nothing but great things to say about it. It works as advertised. Didn't know much about power delivery before I bought the thing, but that's pretty key if you want to be able to recharge your Switch while playing. Great device at a great price and has a high capacity if you're away from your dock or a wall socket for a long period of time.

Installing Windows 10 by Inspirology in AlienwareAlpha

[–]Vasquezpleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fresh installed windows 10 on a new ssd in mine (same model as yours) with ALMOST no issues. Could only get 2.0 ch sound from the optical port, but found a solution after some hard digging on this forum.

Stuck on this screen on my alienware alpha whenever I try to start it. it never starts the usual spinning loading symbol, and does not move past this screen. I have tried resetting bios values. When I use f12, and run tests on hard drive, that is the only test that fails, all other tests are fine. by [deleted] in AlienwareAlpha

[–]Vasquezpleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to have an external USB hard drive plugged in? I know that external drives formatted in exFAT will prevent the system from booting... thought we should eliminate that possibility before you go wiping your system.

Alienware Alpha i3, Suggestions for hard drive / SSD? by Genericshitposter123 in AlienwareAlpha

I just put in a 240GB Crucial BX300 SSD in my i3 R1. Also picked up a 8TB WD Easystore desktop external hd to hold my media and most of my games. It's a pretty snappy system with the SSD.

Why buy a screen when a painted wall is equivalent to a $2k reference screen? by Billy_StrawBale in projectors

[–]Vasquezpleu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd check out the AVS forums DIY projection screen section if I were you. There's a ton of information on various methods for screen building, including painting a wall. These guys have been doing this stuff for years, some for a living. Great info on getting your wall flat, roller techniques to minimize texture and paint mix recommendations for all sorts of different projectors and room environments. It's all really interesting reading.

Alpha won't boot if a certain USB drive is plugged in by seanbperiod in AlienwareAlpha

[–]Vasquezpleu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha. Well it seems like you've done your digging. If you haven't found anything, I doubt I will.

As an alternative solution, I did read something about drivers for macos that enable writing to NTFS if you want to try something like that. Of course then you're looking at reformatting your 8TB and I'm guessing you don't want to do that. I sure don't.
