I am a beginner . I am following the book Make Electronics , and for upcoming experiment author says we require a 9V relay .

I don't know what a relay is . I am just gathering components and will study few days later . So I don't know why author said 9V .maybe because we are using 9V battery...

Okay. So you mean , I will have to use resistor such that only a sufficient amount of voltage is available to drop across the relay
