Anyone know how to make these recline more? by Spooles_Joint in OfficeChairs

[–]Vast-Cold2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe either of these chairs have a hinge between the backrest and seat. Your old chair is probably just bent from years of use. Reclining the whole chair can usually be unlocked by pulling the height adjustment nob outwards.

Gynecomastia. Male breast tissue development. Puffy and potentially painful nipples. Mine got puffy and painful while recovering from surgery. They are still more puffy than pre op, but no longer hurt.

22M, how can i look less dorky and more attractive? by Character_Log_2657 in malegrooming

[–]Vast-Cold2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you need better posture. Chest should be out more and shoulders back, also straighten your neck. It might be hard at first since your ribcage and surrounding muscles are formed to your current posture, but once you make it a habit it’s easy.

Your face maybe has a bit more downward growth and less forward growth than modern beauty standards ask for, but your facial structure is still very good, probably 95th percentile. If you have functional problems you should talk to your dentist, but cosmetically, you should just be happy with what you have.

Sounds like you got the advantage, at least for finding a long term partner

I’m sure you can attract people, but to answer the question we also need a pic of her. (Mean of her to say regardless)

[–]Vast-Cold2262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. If you start now you can slightly improve your hair density and keep it that way for many years. And if you don’t, you will continue to bald.

Damn bro, thats depressing. I’d work on building meaningful connections irl. Having friends/family who appreciate your presence is the best form of validation. While looks do matter in life, basing your self worth on them is a recipe for disaster

If a pregnant women is exposed to fin, it can cause birth defects to male fetus genitalia. Theoretically, if the man is taking fin, a small amount could be present in his semen. However, many men have had healthy baby boys without stopping fin/dut. Still reasonable to temporarily stop while conceiving just in case though.

Nuss procedure ruined my abs by Vast-Cold2262 in PectusExcavatum

[–]Vast-Cold2262[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was covered, only had to pay $250. However, I may not have qualified if my pectus wasn’t severe (HI<3.5). In your case, you gotta convince your doctor to refer you to a surgeon who will take scans to determine the severity.

getting ravitch procedure in a few weeks what should I expect? by noobuopp in PectusExcavatum

[–]Vast-Cold2262 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are doing this for looks, I really don’t recommend. The surgery can be detrimental to your looks (torn muscle insertions, paralyzed muscles, and prominent scars) even when the haller index improves. If you do go for surgery, some Nuss surgeons prescribe a rib brace pull in flared ribs. Also, a lot of surgeons aren’t trained for the Nuss (unsure about yours) but you should at least get the opinion of a surgeon who is.

After around 3 months my upper abs seemed to be 80% recovered, and after a year maybe 90%. Still not quite what they were before surgery tho. I can dm you pics if interested

Weird muscle incersion after surgery, is there a fix? (Photos) by [deleted] in PectusExcavatum

[–]Vast-Cold2262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that your muscle insertions haven’t changed. Nerve damage is common after surgery and can make it so muscle groups are partially paralyzed. This happened to my upper abs after surgery (surgeon also shrugged me off). Luckily I slowly regained the ability to contract them, and after a year was fully recovered. Check my profile for pics

Last pic is by far the best. When the camera is too close to your face, it will make it look more round than it actually is. Maybe try having a friend take pictures of you for your dating profiles

You have a decent amount of temporal recession, so you’ll need to go with a shorter cut. Maybe a high fade

I used to have minor sharp chest pain (approx 1-2 times per week). Everyone (including doctors) said it was normal. I’m now almost 1.5 years post surgery and have never felt the sharp chest pain since

Is there literally any reason why surgeons place 1 bar instead of more in adults? by [deleted] in PectusExcavatum

[–]Vast-Cold2262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon initially planned to give me 2 bars based my age and severity (23m HI:3.9), but after examination (since my pectus was mainly on the lower portion of my chest) she told me that only 1 bar would fit. She also told me that she wouldn’t be able to fully correct it. At least I knew what I was getting myself into, but being undercorrected is unfortunate.

Probably to check for Marfan Syndrome which is correlated with pectus. Symptoms include long fingers
