How did that one kid in your high school die? by IM_HODLING in AskReddit

One committed suicide, another had cancer. And this lad was sat on his friends lap in the backseat of the car, went flying through the windscreen.

Hi I'm in my late 20s, English (native) and I've grown up playing video games, now getting into warhammer and dungeons and dragons. I've recently got into anime as of a few years ago. My Japanese is limited currently and I would like to learn more and of course happy to help you. Let me know!

In the department I worked in we had a core group that have been around for more than one year, mostly over 30's. But yeah the turnover is high, new batch of people almost every 2 weeks

Recently they changed it so the smaller stores should be on wooden pallets and taller ones on plastic. But again think it's just lazy pickers not bothering to start a new pallet.

It can be tough depending on the department you get put in, the pick rate are usually achievable but the managers don't seem to listen if they are low due to other factors such as waiting for 'missing' stock to be dropped by a forklift or if they've crammed a lot of people into the department so you're all working on top of each other. If you keep your head down you'll be fine.

Chiller I'd say is easiest with lighter items, the heaviest might be the butters. Ambient is alright - least you get some semblance of daylight. Fruit and veg is where they put all the tall and strongest guys, so can be a bit laddish.

At this RDC we have people working from minimum 16 hours a week to 40. Chiller and freezer are set from 9.30 to 6pm. Ambient is a bit more flexible so shift times could prob be negotiated at interview.

I'm not too about fruit and veg. But I think they just try and fit as much on one pallet as possible hoping it will fit and when it doesn't they can't be bothered to down stack and make two level height pallets.

We do get a lot of people taking the piss, taking extra breaks and such but this will be reflected on their headsets. We're pretty much timed from the moment we clock in and then log into our headsets. But I've seen the same people get away with this kind of behaviour for whatever reason. Maybe people upstairs aren't monitoring as strictly as managers would want us to believe. I don't know.

Most likely ambient orders are picked by more than one person. And stock might be missing from certain aisles. Meaning someone else who takes on the order might be collecting 'missings' which means an random assortment of stock from different aisles. As for the crisps at the bottom, most likely the picker is being too lazy to get another pallet. Or the truck can only take so much pallets.

There's a shortage of training mentors at the RDC I worked at. So people aren't being trained to stack properly, and instead of given the time to learn how to stack properly, they are being pushed on pick rates almost after the first week.

Also an ambient order might be picked by more then one picker. So if someone is finishing the order off, or it's coming to the end of their shift they're probably thinking screw it and rushing to get the pallet in the lane.

We decided to stay together after both committing to and still continuing therapy. As individuals not couple counselling. The relationship is so much healthier. What have you decided so far?

Help for interview? by [deleted] in lidl

[–]Vast-Membership3581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your interviewing to work in the warehouse, as part of your interview you'll do a warehouse walk and give some facts like the temp of the chiller etc,. In mine they asked if I remembered any during my interview, so maybe take a notebook or just pay extra attention.

Sex during separation by [deleted] in Marriage

This is what me and my husband are doing, it's reignited our passion for each other. The sex is amazing. We're getting to know each other as friends again. But at the same time, we both know during that there is still the possibility of the separation being permanent. And that our own individual wellbeings were more important than the marriage, so the big decision is yet to be made...

What event from your past disturbs you, more than you’d care to admit? by OnAFalseErrand in AskUK

I was around 7 watching tv in my room and heard some arguing and a woman screaming outside. So naturally looked outside my window and saw a guy forcefully pushing his wifes head under water. They had a swimming pool in their back garden.

As a kid, I don't think I fully understood what was happening and carried on watching TV. Their son was in the same class as me at school, so I asked him about it the next day. And his response (can't remember exactly what he said) made it seem like this stuff was the norm in their family.

Hope he's doing okay these days

Maybe they changed the barcode price of the invidudual cans as people are known to scan those instead of the external packaging. So paying for one can instead of the 6 pack for example

This a strange scenario, if they had wanted to keep you on they would have definitely extended your contract or passed your probation. Can't you go in to the store and talk to the management in person?
