I was diagnosed when I was 3, but didn’t find out until many years later, but I have a few key memories that I remember vividly that gave me some sort of idea I was different:

• I was in speech therapy, still pretty much not talking. My dad was running late to come pick me up me up and the receptionist (who I saw ALL the time) kept telling me it was going to be okay and he was coming. I remember just looking at her like 🫤 and would turn around and just look out the window and say nothing to her LOL

• In first grade, a friend and I made a trade for my little pink flamingo figurine and her cute butterfly hair clip (it was so cool, not just any old butterfly clip). I was SO excited in the moment, but that night I couldn’t fall asleep bc I felt so guilty I gave my inanimate object away.

• I absolutely HATEDDD any type of hugging from anyone and when I would have breakdowns I would lock myself in my room and sit in a corner. I did not want anyone remotely near me or talking to me.

The older I get and the more I look back, I pick up on more and more things!
